DEVELOP AN EXTENDED PROGRAM

There are a number of benefits for students when an extended program is developed:

• Ongoing sessions gives students the opportunity to develop a strong relationship with the coast

• Consolidates the learned knowledge for the student

• Can see the area develop over time as they work on it

• Gives opportunity to experience a number of different conservation activities

ACTIVITIES

Our activities include:

• Sand dune ecology - these important ecosystems are an essential part of our education program with activities tailored to each age group.

• Experience conservation and volunteering - Great Ocean Road Coast’s education activities have the capacity to combine theory with practical activities including mulching, weeding, revegetation and more.

• Scientific monitoring - a fantastic way for students to understand the dynamic nature of the coastal environment, scientific monitoring offers students an insight into real environmental science.

• Coastal interpretive walks - these walks help explore natural resource management, cultural significance, native and indigneous flora and fauna, biodiversity threats and more.
