The five-year integrated Master of Arts (M.A.) programme is designed to meet the needs

of students who seek a broader learning forum and who appreciate the unique design

of inter-disciplinary studies. The programme encourages students to engage in critical

thinking and research on ideas, people, society and the human condition.

HSEE is intended

to admit students to this programme in two streams: Development Studies and English

Studies. The first two years of the curriculum are common to all the students after

which, they branch out into the two streams. Allocation of streams will be based on

students’ preferences as well as their academic performance during the first three

semesters.

Type of Question Paper:

HSEE- examination is of three hours duration and has two parts. Part I consists of

objective type multiple choice questions for 2½ hours duration (150 Minutes), administered

through computer. Part II involves essay writing for 30 Minutes to be written on answer sheet

distributed to the candidates at the end of Part I.

SYLLABUS

I. English (25% marks)

This section tests the candidate’s ability to understand and use standard English, and to

appreciate literary language. Questions are related to the following areas:

Reading skills: Candidates will be required to read the given passage/s that aim to test their

comprehension skills.

Grammar: This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of English grammar such as sentence

structure and usage, the use of tenses, verb patterns, articles, and active and passive

constructions etc.

Vocabulary: This section examines the candidate’s vocabulary skills. Candidate’s ability to

understand meaning, structure and colocation of words is tested here.

II. Analytical and Quantitative Ability (25% marks)

This section tests the candidate’s analyitical skills and quantitative abilities. Questions are

related to the following areas:

Numbers, Algebra, Highest Common Factor (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiple (LCM),

Calendar, Basic Statistics – Average, Ratio and proportion, Profit and Loss, Percentages,

Simple and Compound Interest, Work and time, Discount, Age sums, linear equations,

elementary trigonometry.

III. General Studies (in four parts - 50% marks)

This section is intended to test the understanding of some basic economic concepts and

awareness of key issues pertaining to the Indian economy with a focus on the developments

Planning in India: Five-Year Plans – objectives, priorities and problems.

Sectoral Development: agriculture – Green Revolution and technological changes, current

issues and policies; industry-evolution of industrial policies in India (from 1948), strategies

for

industrial development, public and private sectors, small and medium industries,

infrastructure, transport and communication, service sector etc.

Foreign Trade and International Economy: balance of payments, foreign exchange

reserves

and trade policy, I.M.F., W.T.O., international aid.

Money, Banking and Public Finance: Concepts of money and measures of money supply.

Structure of Indian Society: Caste, Class and Tribe, Institutions of Marriage, Family and

About Integrated Programme in Management

(IPM)

The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is

a five-year integrated programme offered by Indian Institute of Management Indore. It is the

only under graduate

programme offered by any Indian Institutes of Management. The course was started in the

year 2011, with an

intake of 121 students.

What is the Selection Process?

The candidates will be selected on the basis of overall performance in Aptitude Test and

Personal Interview. Any candidate fail to appear in either Aptitude Test or Personal Interview

or both shall not be considered further during the selection process. The selection process is

as follows: 

Based on the applications received, candidates satisfying minimum eligibility criteria will be

called for the Aptitude Test (AT) to be conducted across 6 centers, viz., Bengaluru, Kolkata,

New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai/Hyderabad and Indore. However, IIM Indore reserves the right

to change the centers at any time if the situation so warrants. The date of conducting AT is

Thursday, May 14, 2015. The pattern of AT will be as follows: 

i. AT will be of objective-type nature. 

ii. There will be two sections in AT namely Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability. 

iii. There will be 100 questions in total with time duration of two hours. 

iv. Each question will carry 4 marks.

About CLAT

Common Law Admission Test also known as CLAT began in 2008 as a combined

entrance test for National Law Universities.

The first CLAT was conducted on

May 11, 2008 by NLSIU, Bangalore.In 2008, as many as seven NLUs

participated in the common entrance test and they collectively offered a total of 1037

seats for admissions. Over the last 6 years more NLUs; have joined the test and decided

to make admissions on the basis of CLAT score. The participating NLUs’ conduct a

common counseeling for admissions

to their undergraduate Law programmes.

About CA CPT

CPT commonly known as Common Proficiency Test is the entrance exam for one of the

most reputed courses in the Country- CA (Chartered Accountant). The exam is held twice

every year in the months of June and December wherein students can register after class

X and give the exam after class XII.

It is an objective type examination that consists of 200 multiple choice questions from four

sections, viz. Accounting, Mercantile Law, Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. To qualify

the exam a candidate has to score 30% in all the sections and 50% aggregate

The exam is exempted for Graduates and Post Graduates or candidates having equivalent

degrees in effect from August 3, 2012. Graduates from commerce stream can sit directly in

IPCC examinations , provided they have scored at least 55% in their graduations.

CA CPT Eligibility

Candidates who have passed class X examinations conducted by any examining body

constituted by the Law in India or an exam that is recognized by the Government as

equivalent thereto may register for CPT.

CA CPT Exam Pattern

Common Proficiency Test commonly known as CPT is the gateway exam to CA course,

conducted by ICAI in June and December.

The FOUR hour test consists of objective questions ranging from Fundamentals of Accounts,

Mercantile Law, General Economics and Quantitative aptitude.

CPT exam is divided into two sessions containing 100 questions in each.

Out of the 100 questions from Session I, 60 are from fundamental Of Accounts and 40 from

Mercantile Law. Each right answer carries 1 mark each and for every wrong answer ¼ mark

gets deducted.

Session II contains 50 questions from General Economics and 50 from Quantitative Aptitude

out of the total of 100 questions.
