A B O U T S A I N T M A R T I N ’ SWe are one of 14 Benedictine colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, and the only one west of the Rocky Mountains. Established in 1895 by monks of the Roman Catholic Order of Saint Benedict, our identity as a university is rooted in our Catholic, Benedictine tradition. Saint Martin’s is a member of the Independent Colleges of Washington.
Guided by the principles of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, Saint Martin’s University endeavors to unite academic rigor and excellence with moral thought and social responsibility – higher education that seeks to serve and promote the common good – higher education that seeks to transform lives by grappling with issues of Faith, Reason, Service and Community. We come together, faculty, staff and students, to form a community of individuals who are learning to live a meaningful life.

D I R E C T I O N SAttendees can access campus from two entry points. The campus has two addresses you can enter in Google maps: 5000 Abbey Way SE, Lacey 98503: This will take you toward the blue path for general registration. Be sure to deviate from the google map directions and take the first right onto Baran drive. Note this route is not recommended for canoes as it is slightly windy, contains significant speed bumps and occasional wildlife crossings.
5300 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey 98503: The orange route is the recommended route for trailers with canoes. Note the first major intersection (Pacific and College) is one-way so proceed to Lacey Boulevard. From Lacey Boulevard turn left onto Ruddell Road and straight into campus.
Canoe Drop-Off is indicated by the anchor. Check-in is walking distance, right around the corner from canoe drop off. There is ample trailer and guest parking in the R Lot, directly across Franz road (indicated with a P). Saint Martin’s Campus is conveniently compact so that participants can walk to any of the event locations.

C A N O E R A C E - L O N G L A K E Parking for the canoe races at Long Lake is at the Thurston County Fairgrounds.
There are three points of entry for the canoe races. The first entrance is the main park entrance. It is slightly hidden but signage will help guide the way! Competitors can take this entrance and then turn right into the Fairground parking.
If you miss the main park entrance, the Fairground entrance is right after the next bend. Trailers with canoes should proceed to the boat launch, farthest south location. After unloading canoe, trailers should return to fairground entrance for parking.

See the transit guide included in your swag bags, go to www.intercitytransit.com for an online trip planner or call the Customer Service number on your transit guide.
Experience Olympia & Beyond has prepared “Where to Eat” guides (also in swag bags) with addresses of local coffee shops, restaurants and famer’s markets in the surrounding area. To accompany that, they’ve provided a quick reference by category with cost and distance from campus. They’ve also provided a visitor guide.
We’re excited that the wonderful Olympia Farmer’s Market (www.olympiafarmersmarket.com), located in Downtown Olympia, is open for the season!
FRIDAY NIGHT ON-CAMPUS EVENT There will be social activities in the Charneski Recreation Center including sports activities, Minute to Win It games and pizza. This will be a wonderful opportunity to interact with students from other schools.

E N G I N E E R I N G A T S A I N T M A R T I N ’ S Saint Martin’s University is a great place to earn your degree in engineering. More than 1,300 Saint Martin’s engineering graduates have gone on to work on industrial and civil engineering projects in state and local government agencies, as well as nationally and internationally, and many graduates have founded or lead prominent engineering companies. The Hal and Inge Marcus School of Engineering (HIMSE) is located in a new building, Cebula Hall, which is the highest scored Platinum LEED educational facility in the Western Hemisphere. HIMSE has energetic faculty; a new industrial lab building; a revised curriculum to better prepare graduates to face the challenges of the 21st century; a study abroad program; seamless five-year programs that enable students to graduate in five years with their undergraduate and graduate degrees; and graduate assistantships that are available for well-qualified students.
