Indian Association of Sports Medicine

Established in 1971 at National Institute of Sports, Patiala: IASM has come along way in guiding and assisting in the promotion of physical fitness among people and among sports fraternity.IASM is active in conducting and publishing research and in organizing seminars, symposiums and workshops related to Sports Medicine & Allied Sciences. It also focuses on establishing sports medicine centres and institutes across various states which involves sports scientists specialized in Sports Physiotherapy, Sport psychology, sports nutrition, sports bio mechanics, training methods, rehabilitation and research to provide scientific input in offering valuable service to the elite and budding sports persons.

SCIENTIFICA

Scientifica is a national level conference for undergraduate and post graduate Physiotherapy students which provides them the opportunity to discuss research and encourages their innovative thinking. The main aspect of Scientifica is to motivate aspiring Physiotherapists in bringing the acquired theory in clinical practice, with the scientific foundations in accordance with evidence-based practice; in other words, “Applying what has been learned”.With its statement of “Think Scientific, Think Research” Scientifica was started in 2008 by Sancheti College of Physiotherapy, Pune. This year makes it more special as Scientifica enters in its 9th year and is also combined with IASM for giving a golden opportunity to the orthopedicians and physiotherapists to interact and build up a camaraderie towards long-term professional support.
