ABOUT COLLEGE

Established in 1991, Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan’s College of Engineering is a tribute to the late Shri Vasantdada Patil, the Sahakar Maharshi and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra & Former Governor of Rajasthan spread over a total area of 3,00,000 sq. feet. It is placed right in the center of Mumbai, along the Eastern Express Highway at Sion. The college is approved by the Government of Maharashtra, University of Mumbai and AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) NBA Accredited, approved by DTE to conduct degree courses in Electronics, Computers, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunications. Along with successful trends and records in academics success story with Mumbai University, these engineers exhibits brilliant cultural activities through various intra and inter collegiate festivals every year. Students are also actively involved in sports at the University level. Our college is affiliated to 'IETE' (Institute of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineers), ‘CSI’ (Computer Society of India) and 'IEEE' (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers, USA). There are various professional bodies like IEEE, IETE, ISTE, IE (1), CSI to organize the Techno - Culture events. Our college also has various students associations namely CESA, EESA, ETSA, ITSA & FESA. These associations organize various events seminars and workshop during festival. We organize technical festival "VPECS" in odd semester and Techno Cultural festival named “FUSION" in even semester.



FUSION

FUSION is the festival of students…by the students…for the students. Fusion has been a Successful and trendsetter event of Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan’s College of Engineering from its inception 1997. By every year the FUSION is growing and touching new Heights with your kind support and vigor. The FUSION not only gives chance to the students to present their talent and helps them to do it. It is hoped that besides 1700 students of our college and nearly 3000 students from various engineering, commerce, science colleges at Mumbai will participate. The event would be widely covered by Print and Electronic media.

Fusion a Tradition

FUSION’97 happened as a benefitting continuation to this runway success of a festival only in its third year. A lot of new events were introduced by the festival like Treasure Hunt, the DJ mixing, which held for the first time perhaps in the whole Maharashtra.

FUSION’98 saw another innovation, in the form of DJ Mixing-Rain Dance, which was another runway hit!! Fusion a Tradition the last of millennium, kept up our college’s successful tradition. And all this only in addition to a plethora of usual glitz and wacky events.

FUSION’00 saw the fashion Show, the event in two phases, one being the professional show and another being a contest, with the college team contesting. Hard sell –an advertising contest was introduced.

FUSION’01 saw the simulation of the Bombay Stock Exchange, The Dalal Street. Engineers turned stock brokers for three days of Fusion and make a lot of money. Inspired by Amithabh Bachchan’s KBC.

FUSION’02 A new version of increasingly popular Kamzor Khiladi Koun was introduced. It eliminates your associate to win!! Bid Buy Boom also took the center stage with the biding and auction organized by the students.

FUSION’03 saw the introduction of Bowling and Go-Karting. These new event added the flare & fire, testing the skills and the acceleration on their way to victory.

FUSION’04 saw another innovation for rappelling for the engineering students & career fair guidance, which were great crowd pullers.



FUSION’05 saw another entry of events like Bridal make-up receive huge response with respect to crowd, sponsorship and media.

FUSION’06 The festival was held at the ALL INDIA LEVEL and saw the participation from the 75 colleges all over India. The events ranged from the IT exhibition to audience like visual impact,personality contest, seminars on Ethical hacking and more events.

FUSION’07 Various workshops like Salsa had their part of share in this year’s success.

FUSION’08 Student were given a chance to show their Creativity in the world of Advertisement through the event AD-MAD & PRESCO.

FUSION’09 We experienced the Rock In Progress for the very first time in the history of PVPP. It saw variance bands performing from various colleges including the ‘Workshop’ band which has performed in channel V Launch pad.

FUSION’10 highlighted the concept of Go-Green & the AASRA kid touches our hearts.

FUSION’11 had seen a huge turn up of crowd. Visual Impact and Fashion Show being the main events had been a huge hit. “Say no to drugs” was the theme for the same.

FUSION’12 highlighted our love for our very own city AMCHI MUMBAI. “Mumbai Meri Jaan” being the theme the students had carried out a cleanliness drive under which the students and staff had cleaned the SION station. FUSION’13 had seen LA FIESTA, an España based theme turned out to be a huge success where the feel of spanish carnaval was experienced with a masquerade party.

PUSH UPS AND PULL UPS: In this event the one who does maximum number of push-ups and pull-ups wins. TREADMILL:

One who runs for maximum time and with fastest speed wins the game.

PHOTO MAROTHON: Here the participants will be asked to capture pic of anything within the campus and the one who does it first wins.

TRAP AND TRIP: It basically a game of snake and ladder played by standing on the snake and ladder board and performing the tasks as per the trap or trip.

THE AMAZING RACE: It is a huge treasure hunt in the wide areas of Mumbai.



RING OF FIVE: Aim your rings on the prizes to get ‘em. Here participants will get 5 rings to win the prizes.

WEB DESIGING-

This event is based on basic web designing and publishing website within the given time.

NAUKRI.COM-

It is an event which will demonstrate the rounds through which the participants have to

go from to seek a job.

TECH-WHEEL-

A wheel be created consisting of different parts (topics). According to the topics various

tasks will be provided .The participants who complete the tasks in minimum time wins.

TECHINICAL PAPER PRESENTATION-

In these event participants can participate either in group or alone. Here the contestants

have to give a presentation based on any technical topic.

LED MANIA –

In this game with the help of paper clips we have to glow the LED by forming a path of

paper clips.

CIRCUITRIX -

Participants have to find the clues for components and design the circuit.

GRID WARRIOR-

Round 1- Take the ball to end.

Round 2- Group has to collect maximum ball.

Round 3- Air hockey

STRATEGIC TIME OUT-

The goal of this game is to strategically layer colored ribbons to match a pattern. Using
