THE HISTORY OF

Abita Beer is Louisiana culture on tap. Based in the tiny town of Abita Springs 30 miles north of New Orleans, the brewery

began at a time when craft brewing was still very new. In 1986, Abita customers were just

discovering that the full-flavored, colorful ales and lagers we created were an exciting

new way to enjoy beer.

In the beginning, the brewery produced just 1,500 barrels of beer. By 1994, we outgrew

our original site (now home of the Abita brew pub) and moved up the road to the current

location. Today we brew over 161,000 barrels of beer and 12,000 barrels of root beer in our

state-of-the-art brewing facility. We invite you to come and visit us in the Abita Springs

and see the results of our three-year, $30 million expansion. Take a tour, taste our

brews, visit the gift shop and see for yourself how we hand-craft Abita Beer.

Abita uses only the finest ingredients — British and North American hops and the pure

artesian water of Abita Springs. Our lagers and ales are brewed in small batches. Abita

Beer has no preservatives, additives or stabilizers and is cold filtered. Abita beers

have always been brewed to pair with the life we love to live in Louisiana. Our brews are

favored by great chefs of the south who use Abita Beer in their recipes. Wherever you find

All orders must be submitted through our distributor website. • Visit www.abita.com • Please see Distributor Website for more information about log-in. • Place your beer or POS order. Once the order is successfully placed, you will receive a

confirmation email with an order number. Please keep this email for reference.

• Please note: all pricing on POS is distributor pricing and will not be further reduced.

§ If additional product is needed, please place another order. All orders will be grouped by distributor and will ship on the next available truck.

§ A shipping notification email is sent out 36-48 hours before the scheduled ship date.

BeerOrders

§ All beer orders require a minimum 3 week lead time. To request an earlier ship date, please contact the shipping department.

§ Please note that each pallet can hold the following:

8 – ½ bbl Kegs 12 – ¼ bbl Kegs 99 - 12pk and 6pk Can Cases 70 - 12pk and 6pk Bottle Cases 70 - Big Beer 22oz Cases

§ All Seasonal, Harvest, Bourbon St. and Select brands must be pre-ordered. We will announce each time when the items are available to be ordered online. Please order these items separately from your normal orders. You can refer to the pre-order schedule to see order due dates.

§ NOTE: There is a 70 case per pallet restriction. The sum total of all package brands ordered must equal a multiple of 70. Example: 40 cases Amber, 15 cases Purple Haze, and 15 cases Turbodog = 70 cases. This order meets the 70 cases per pallet restriction. There are also suggested quantities for kegs. These are not required, but would aid in the processing of your order. See below:

• 8 – 1/2 Barrel Kegs per pallet • 12 – 1/4 Barrel Kegs per pallet

§ The system will alert you if your package multiples per pallet are not correct. The order must be corrected for the order to process properly.

POSOrders

§ All POS orders, unless otherwise indicated, will ship on the next available beer load.

§ All neon signs are shipped from our manufacturer via LTL and will not arrive with the beer order. Additional shipping charges will apply to neons and displays as they are shipped from a third party.

§ If UPS shipping is preferred, please select that option at the time of check out. We offer UPS Ground, Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, and 3 Day Select. Any 3-day, 2-day, or next day is only guaranteed from the ship date. Next day shipping does not mean it will arrive “next day”. Please allow 3 days for processing.

§ If UPS shipping is required, please indicate the date in which you need the order to arrive in this area as well. Orders are not always processed the same day they are made so a specific date will allow us to ship via the appropriate method to ensure on time delivery.

Pallet Deposit and Return Policy

§ The cost of the deposit on our pallets is $7.00.

§ Only 48”x40” grocery pallets are accepted. Any pallets returned from a distributor, that are not the 48”x40” grocery pallets will be charged a $1.00 disposal fee. All returned 48”x40” grocery pallets must be in serviceable condition and verified by our driver at the time of pickup.

Keg Deposit and Return Policy

§ Empty cooperage is picked up by our company trucks or contract trucks prearranged for dunnage pick up.

§ A deposit is required for all kegs. Once kegs are returned to the brewery, we issue you a credit towards your future order.

§ There is a mandatory keg return policy. All bad keg returns must have a “keg returned tag” filled out completely to be considered for credit. When the return arrives at the brewery, it will be tested in the lab and a follow up email will be sent to you if we are not issuing credit. If you do not hear from us, a credit will be issued.

§ To order the return keg tags, please go to the online beer ordering page. We realize that there will some issues that are disputed but we will do our best to make sure these are kept at a minimum, hence the keg tag being filled out properly.

Delivery/Pick-up Arrangements

§ Empty cooperage is picked up by our company trucks or contract trucks prearranged for dunnage pick up.

§ We will notify your warehouse of the need to pick up empty kegs and pallets during our scheduled delivery. Please contact us if you have a different policy on cooperage pick up, and we will work with you to arrange a timely pick up.

§ All empty kegs must be wrapped on a pallet.

§ We will only accept pallets that are under an empty keg load, and as many pallets that were delivered in package for a delivery. (Example: If we deliver 700 cases of package product, we will accept any pallets that have returned kegs plus 10 pallets that are not under an empty keg load.)

§ All pallets returned must be in serviceable condition in order to receive credit.

Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with pale and caramel malts and German Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Abita Amber was the first beer offered by the brewery and continues to be our leading seller. Amber is Abita’s most versatile beer for pairing with food. It has been voted “best beer” in numerous New Orleans reader polls and is used frequently in recipes of great Louisiana chefs.

ANDYGATOR

Abita Andygator®, a creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made with pilsner malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator® is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. Reaching an alcohol strength of 8% by volume, it is a Helles Doppelbock.

Abita Strawgator™ is the fusion of Strawberry Harvest Lager sweetness with the bite of Andygator. This golden lager is made with malted barley and wheat. It is hopped with German Perle hops for a delicate hop flavor. Bourbon Street Imperial Stout is aged in small batch bourbon barrels. Our Imperial

Stout is brewed with a combination of pale, caramel, chocolate and roasted malts.

Oats are also added to give the beer a fuller and sweeter taste. The roasted malts give

the beer its dark color as well as its intense flavor and aroma. After fermentation the

beer is cold aged for 6 weeks. This is necessary for all of the flavors of the malt and

hops to balance and produce a very smooth flavor.

After the cold aging the beer is transferred into the bourbon barrels. It is then aged

for another 8 weeks to absorb all of the flavors from the barrels. The result is a stout

that brings out the roasted flavors from the malt and the warming toasted, vanilla,

and bourbon flavors.

Bourbon Street Rock & Rye is a rye pale ale with the addition of ingredients similar to a Rock & Rye cocktail. First we brew a pale ale with a combination of malted barley and rye, then age the beer in small batch bourbon barrels for 8 weeks to pick up all of the flavors of the barrel. After aging is complete, the beer is transferred. Fresh orange and lemon peels, maraschino cherries and spices such as cinnamon, clove & anise are added to an aging tank to absorb all of their aromas and flavors. The result is smooth barrel aged beer that tastes like you are sipping a Rock & Rye.

Root Beer is made with a hot mix process using spring water, herbs, vanilla and yucca (which creates foam). Unlike most soft drink manufacturers, Abita sweetens its root beer with pure Louisiana cane sugar. The resulting taste is reminiscent of soft drinks made in the 1940s and 1950s, before bottlers turned to corn sugar and fructose. Some soft drink makers add caffeine to their product, but Abita is naturally caffeine-free.
