Psalm 19:1-6 niv 1 The heavens declare the glory of God;  the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech;  night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words;  no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,  their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,  like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at one end of the heavens  and makes its circuit to the other;  nothing is deprived of its warmth.

F How Firm a FoundationHow firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,  is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He hath said, You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled? 

"Fear not, I am with thee; O be not dismayed, for I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand." 

"When through the deep waters I call thee to go,  the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; for I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless, and sanctify to thee thy deepest distress." 

"When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, My grace, all-sufficient, shall be thy supply. The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine."

J What a Friend We Have in JesusWhat a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share?

Psalm 55:22 niv 22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Psalm 62:5-8 niv 5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;  my hope comes from him. 6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;  he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;  he is my mighty rock, my refuge.  8 Trust in him at all times, you people;  pour out your hearts to him,   for God is our refuge.

O gratefully sing his power and his love: our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days, pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise. 

O tell of his might and sing of his grace, whose robe is the light, whose canopy space. His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds

Come to earth to taste our sadness, he who glories knew no end; by his life he brings us gladness, our Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend Leaving riches without number, born within a cattle stall; This our everlasting wonder, Christ was born the Lord of All.

77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation  through the forgiveness of their sins, 78 because of the tender mercy of our God,  by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven 79 to shine on those living in darkness  and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

John 1:9-14 niv 9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
