A is for Alligatorby Cristofer Palacios

Alligators are reptiles. Alligators live in water, rivers, lakes, and swamps. Alligators have long sharp teeth. They have scaly skin. Alligators eat a lot of things. Alligators are large lizards and they lay out in the sun. The mother alligator protects her babies. Alligators are cool reptiles.

B is for Bearby Clay Byrd

Bears are big mammals. Bears will almost eat anything .Here is a few of the things they eat fish, plants, deer, nuts, honey, seeds, roots, berries, insects. A few of the places they live is a forest, meadows, valleys and mountains. The colors of some bears are black, brown and white. Some names of bears are the sun bear, black bear, grisly bear and polar bear there are more. Bears have thick skin to keep them warm. They have sharp claws to climb trees. Bears have big teeth to eat its food. Bears live all over the world.

The cat is a small mammal. They eat birds and mice and rabbits too. They see at night better than us. They can be black, white, brown, gray, yellow, and red orange. The cats are pets and give live birth. They will not eat food if it’s not fresh. Cat are good pets.

A dog is a playful mammal. They live in homes. They like to be around other dogs. They are playful. Beagles are a popular dog. They eat milk. Beagles have big brown eyes win they are babies. They eat meat and anything. A toy dog is a lap dog. They have real babies. Dogs are good pets.

Elephants are large mammals. They live in hot grasslands. They move in small groups. They have thick skin elephants may stand up to 13 feet. And they eat grass and fruit, trees, bark, flowers, and roots. Elephants have a good memory. They have big ears. They have gray skin. African Elephants are the biggest land animals.

The flamingo is a tall bird. The flamingo eats shrimp and snails and algae. A flamingo is tall mostly pink bird with a long thin neck in an s. The flamingo’s habitat is a lagoon. The flamingo is a pretty bird.

Giraffe live in eastern Africa. Giraffe are mammals. It is hard because lions eat giraffes. Giraffes have very long legs and necks and reddish and brown spots. Giraffes eat leaves. They do not eat grass. Giraffes stand up sleeping. Giraffes are so awesome.

Horses are plant eating mammals. You will find them eating grass in fields or out in the plains. Horses will come in many sizes. They all have different color hair. Ponies that are left are strong. Horses can almost see around there body. Horses are awesome animals.

I is for Iguanaby Colton Wallace

Iguanas are reptiles. They are green and weigh up to 13 pounds. They eat cactus and insects and small mammals. When another iguana enters its territory the defender raises it self on its front legs and down and they hang by their tails. Iguanas are interesting retitles.

J is for Jellyfishby Raegan Griggs

Jellyfish live in the ocean. A jellyfish is an invertebrate. Jellyfish live in shallow water. There are about 200 different kinds of jellyfish. Jellyfish eat shrimp, crabs, fish and zooplankton. They protect themselves by their stinging tentacles. A jellyfish is a carnivore. Jellyfish are even older than the dinos. Jellyfish are awesome.

K is for Koalaby Raegan Griggs

Koalas are pale gray to yellow. The koala lives in the trees. Koalas are mammals. It can be very hard for the koala to find food because they are picky eaters. You can find koalas in Eastern Austria. A female koala has one baby at a time. The scientific name of the koala is phascolarctos cinereus. We need to protect these animals.

L is for Lizard (komodo dragon)by Evan Norris

Komodo dragons are huge reptiles that live in deserts. They eat rats, goats, and water buffalos and they look like small dragons. Komodo dragons are active during the day and the dark color of adult dragons skin helps them soak up the heat of the sun and they hold their heads high to smell. Komodo dragons are awesome lizards.

M is for Mooseby Clay Byrd

A moose is a big mammal. It is the biggest of the deer family. Here is some things they eat bark, twigs, grass, pond weed, herbs, and water lilies. Moose live in Canada, United States, Rocky Mountains, forests and valleys. Moose are good swimmers. They can smell far away. Moose are awesome animals.

The newt is a small amphibian. The newt is in the woodland forest and near rivers.

Octopi are very big. Octopi have eight legs. Octopi change colors from red to gray to black. They have soft skin and big eyes. They have dots on their bodies. They eat crabs and fish. They use their tentacles to crawl on the ocean bottom. The octopus is a pretty animal.

A polar bear is a large bear. It lives in the Arctic. A polar bear is a mammal because they have white fur or hair. They have a backbone. Polar bears eat seals and also whales and dead fish. They have black skin that absorb heat from the sun. They unusual swimmers. A mother bear can have up to four cubs at a time. They crawl to their mother and feed on her milk. They don’t have fur when there born. The polar bear is a fascinating bear.

A quail is a very small bird. They live in woodland and forest areas. It can be black and white. It will eat barley and wheat and flower and fruit. They fly in tiny pairs of flocks They do not migrate. Its main predators are cats, snakes, and raccoons. Quails are awesome animals.

Rabbits are mammals. Some rabbits live alone. Some rabbits live together. They can cause damage because they eat peoples gardens. Rabbits eat plants and grass. Some rabbits are big and some rabbits are small Rabbits are furry and have cotton tails. Rabbits are interesting animals.

A snake is a reptile with scaly skin. Snakes can live in trees, in water, and sum live in tunnels. They can live in Africa, Sahara, rainforests, and grasslands. Snakes come in all colors. Snakes eat a lot of things. They have backbones and their backbones can bend. Snakes can blend in. Poisonous snakes can bite. Its bites are painful. Snakes some times gather together mate. Snakes are cool reptiles.

T is for Turkeyby Colton Wallace

The turkey is a large bird. It can fly but only for short distances. Its habitat is the woodland forest. They eat baby snakes, small frogs and grasshoppers. It has a blue head and neck with reddish, yellow bumps. Its tail feathers are covered with dark feathers that help them blend in with their woodland homes. Turkeys are very interesting birds.

Umbrella birds live in the rain forest and up in trees. It has feathers. It makes a booming sound. It has a crest on its four head. They have black feathers covering their body. They eat small frogs and small birds. Umbrella birds can not fly. They are unique birds.

V is for Vultureby Mrs. Tipton

The vulture is a large bird that is found almost everywhere in the world. Vultures are meat-eating birds. They eat rats and dead animals. They live in the grasslands near water and in deserts. A vulture circles its prey before swooping down to eat it. These large birds can see dead animals from high above the ground. Vultures have large wings and sharp, curved beaks. They use these beaks to eat their food. Their feathers can be black, white, grey, brown, or tan. Vultures have a great sense of smell that they use to find food. There are over 30 different types of vultures in the world. Vultures are strong, powerful carnivorous birds that live around us.

W is for Whaleby Evan Norris

Whales are mammals that live in oceans. They have torpedo shaped bodies and they are blue, gray, and black. Whales eat fish, octopus, and snails and they make sounds to communicate. Some whales may live for 100 years are longer. Whales are cool mammals.

X is for Xoloby Mrs. Tipton

Did you know that a xolo is a dog? It is a type of mammal that is also known as the Mexican Hairless. It gets this name because it has hardly any fur on it’s body like a regular dog. It does have a little bit of hair like a mohawk on top of its head. Its body is a little longer than its tail. Xolos can be found in Mexico and Central America. These dogs are kept as pets and eat dog food. They are very protective of their owners and like to chase cats and other small animals. Xolos come in three sizes small, medium, and large and can weigh 10-50 pounds. When these dogs are born they have wrinkly skin, but as they grow older their skin smooths out. A xolo is a strange but unique type of dog.

Y is for Yakby Lily Beasley

A yak lives on high land and some live in the wild. Yaks often eats snow or grass. A yak is a big mammal because they have fur or hair. Calves are born every other year. The wild yak has dense undercoat covered by generally dark brown to black fur or hair. Yaks can weigh up to 2200 pounds and are 6.5 feet high. Yak live in large herds and have split hooves. Dried yak dung is used as fuel in the treeless Tibetan Andes plateaus. Yaks are strange cool mammals.

Z is for Zebraby Chloie Spradley

Zebras are little mammals. Zebras live in the zoo and in Africa. Zebras eat grass. Zebras drink water. Zebras have stripes. Their behavior is calm. Some have brown hair. Zebras give birth to live babies. Zebras are awesome.
