Reference Assembly
● Reflects the required spreading of pages through the documents
● Allows comparing assembly results during matching, and the required spreading
● It can be set:
● Automatically, when adding pages to the batch (the Open image dialog box) (Multi-page files, the same number of pages in the documents).
● Manually (different number of pages in different documents) –
the Assemble to Reference Documents command
The assembly scheme is displayed when the list of pages is sorted by number from low to high.
● Indication
● Green – reference
● Blue – assembly matches the reference
● Red – assembly doesn’t match the reference

Match Reference Document
● Now you can match layout even if only one page not the whole document is selected in the batch window
● In this case the program takes information about top and bottom borders of document (header\footer) from reference assembly
● Note! Works when pages are assembled to reference document
Reference layout
● You can create a reference layout for each image in the batch. The reference layout shows the desired location of blocks on the image. You can create a reference layout manually or by using the results of matching the FlexiLayout. You can edit a reference layout by adding or removing blocks, changing their sizes and locations, etc.
● Reference layouts are used when debugging FlexiLayouts, as it allows you to compare the results of matching your FlexiLayout with the desired block locations on each of the images.
● Reference layouts are created in Reference layoutmode. Click on the toolbar to switch to the Reference Layout mode.
● The Difference layout mode( button on the toolbar) displays the difference between the reference layout and the results of matching the FlexiLayout. Areas which are present in the blocks of the reference layout but are absent in the blocks detected by matching the FlexiLayout (Missing Areas) are highlighted in red. The areas which are absent in the blocks of the reference layout but present in the blocks detected by matching the FlexiLayout (Excess Areas) are highlighted in green. The Batch window displays the percentages of Missing Areasand Excess Areas.

Reference layout
Create a reference layout manually:
● Open the image for which you wish to create a reference layout.
● Match the FlexiLayout with the image.
● Switch to Reference layout mode.
● Draw the required blocks on the image. (Use the Block-Drawing Tools.)
● Click on the toolbar to save the reference layout.
You can also use the Copy Matched Layout to Reference command from the shortcut menu of the batch to save as a reference layout the results of matching the FlexiLayout with selected batch pages.

Regions on Reference Layout
To Adjust regions use toolbar
● Create Block\Create Element allows to create a region of the element on the image and name the field\element automatically
● Draw Location allows to draw a region for the created field\element (select field\element in the Training window in advance)
● Add Region Part adds a rectangular area to the selected field\element region (select it in advance in the Training window or on the image)
● Cut Region Part cuts out a rectangular area to the selected field\element region (select it in advance in the Training window or on the image)
● Delete Region deletes a region from the image and this field\element gets Unmarked status (only for the current image)

Adjust the Offset
You can adjust the offset:
● Switch to Reference Layout mode
● Open the properties of the element,
Relations tab
● Select all relations
● Select the boundary of the relation on the image
● Drag the boundary of relation

Elements References Browser
● Press CTRL+ALT+R
● Useful if you need to change/move/delete object and need to estimate how harmful it could be, as it
shows all references and dependences for the selected object
● Available for elements and blocks

Multiple Batches
● A FlexiLayout project can contain multiple batches
● It allows independent work with images of different types or from different sources
● User can work with one batch at a time

Debugging
● Print function can be used to print information about hypotheses properties in the Advanced Pre-Search Relations and Advanced Post-Search Relations
● Printing function command: Print( String text )
● Only in Advanced Pre-Search Relations you can:● Get a search area after each operator;● Get rectangles excluded from search area
Hint: Use the Str() function to convert data of pre-defined types.
Example: Print: “The rectangle is”+Str(Element1.Rect );

Finding and replacing code strings
● "Find and replace" is carried out in the code of the current element and all of its subelements. Therefore, to perform "find and replace" in the code of all elements, you must select the FlexiLayout (i.e. the root element in the tree). If you need to perform "find and replace" in only one layout alternative, select this alternative in the tree.
● This feature is useful, for example, when replacing the name of an element: you do not have to open all the Advanced tabs in the properties of various elements.
To find and replace a code string:
● Select the element in which to search.
● Open the Find in Advanced Code dialog box (Tools>Find in Advanced Code… or select Find in Code in element local menu).
● In the Find what field, enter the string to find. In the Replace with field, enter the string with which to replace the found code fragment. Select Match case if the search must be case sensitive.
● Click Find All to find all instances and Replace All to replace all the found code fragments. The results will be displayed in the Results field.

● The Hypotheses window shows the FlexiLayout matching results in the form of hypotheses for each element :
● The left part – the elements (double-click to open the properties dialog box)
● The right part – the hypotheses for each element (click to see the hypothesis properties)

● Hypotheses are joined in order they were generated

Idea of Autocreation (Training)
● Several pages from the batch are selected as training pages
● In a special mode regions for required fields and key words are drawn manually on all the training pages
● By clicking a button FlexiLayout is generated automatically:● elements and their search properties
● blocks

Images for Training
● Only selected pages are used for training
● Pages can be added in the Training mode during the FlexiLayout trainingor in general mode in advance
● To select pages for training in general mode:
● Select the checkbox
● Select needed pages and choose Use for Training Selected Pages – only selected in the batch window pages will be added to the training set all other pages will be deselected
● Select page and choose Add Selected Pages to Training Set

Flexilayout Building
● After clicking the Generate Alternatives, the program generates the FlexiLayout Alternative and automatically closes the Training mode
● After matching the FlexiLayoutthe program creates the log

● FlexiLayout Autocreation helps to automatically create simple one-page flexible descriptions for
● Semi-structured documents with shifted fields (fixed-like structure)
● Semi-structured/unstructured documents with context-sensitive fields
● FlexiLayout Autocreation can be used as a first step of creating a complex FlexiLayout
● Helps to create automatically elements for the fields with predictable location and format
After automatic creation FlexiLayout can be adjusted:
● New elements and blocks can be added

IDEAS FROM RECENT PROJECTS
Checkmarks in FLTo work with checkmarks in FL you need:
● In FLS find the area of checkmark by means of Elements (typically for square well printed checkmarks it could be done by Object Collection element type with Checkmark object type, but more universal way to use element of Region type with exact area setup but means of auxiliary reference elements)
● Create Block of CheckMark type for single checkmark or CheckMark Group block with several CheckMark blocks inside, set their locations.
● After uploading AFL into FlexiCapture you could not add new fields with regions, so all fields with regions should be described in FLS beforehand.
