‘All About Me’ Booklet
Name:_________________________
This is your personal ‘All About Me’ Booklet. It is designed to enable to tell us something about yourself before you arrive at SWCHS in September.
This booklet will also give you some more information about SWCHS so that you can arrive
in September fully prepared.
Try to complete the whole booklet!
You can make lots
of new friends…
There are lots of new clubs and things to try so join in!
A lot of people were worried about getting lost as SWCHS is so big, but we all knew
our way around within a few days. If you get
lost – just ask!
Some of us were worried about getting the right bus home,
but the teachers help you!
Year 7 is GREAT! Lessons have been really interesting. The teachers are really nice and happy
to help you if you get stuck. Don’t be afraid to ask if you want any help!
Some of us were worried about being bullied, but that is really
unlikely. If anything happens that worries you there are staff here to help you and sort problems out!
Actually it hasn’t been scary at all no-one we know has been bullied…
Reflection on your time at Primary School
A learning skill that is important to develop as you go through school is the ability to reflect, learn lessons about your strengths and consider what you might do differently. Write things you are happy to share with your classmates and your future teachers.
My Achievements at Primary School:

at SWCHS…
A New Start….
Starting secondary school will help you build on your skills and experiences from Primary School and there will also be some new opportunities. Looking forward to this can be exciting, but you may also be unsure what to expect. Use these spaces to record your thoughts on changing school.

Homework
Every year 7 student will be expected to do 4-5 hours of homework a week. Homework builds upon what you do
in class and is a really good opportunity for you to demonstrate what you have learned.
Sometimes teachers will set homework which will help you prepare for the next lesson. It can be handwritten or
sometimes you can use a computer for your work if you prefer.
You will make a note of all homework set in your Planner. This is a really useful resource and includes lots of
handy information. It’s good to identify some Study Buddies so that if you’re absent or unsure about some
homework you have someone to ask. Most Year 7’s do one hour of homework a night in the week. Most
homework needs to be done in a quiet space.
Think about the following:
• Where will you do your homework?
• How will you fit this into your evening?
• When do you think that you will do your homework?
• What will you use to help you with your homework?
Here is a list of different homework that Year 7 had in the first few weeks at school:
• Maths – Complete the work on triangles Page 142, Exercise 6
• History – Use the Horrible Histories clip that you saw in class to find 5 things that the programme used to make
history interesting.
• Art – Use 2 pages in your Art book to produce a mood board of still life pictures.
• English – Redraft your written work to include at least 3 complex sentences.
• German – Write 6 sentences in German about things in your school bag.
Discuss these points with your partner:
• Which homework would you like to do the most from the examples above?
• Which would you find hardest?
• Why would you find this homework hard?
• Why are lots of different types of homework set?
• Why should you try and get your homework done in a quiet space?
Message from you to your Form Tutor……. Name:
Primary School:
You will spend 15 minutes each Day with your Form
Tutor. This time is called ‘Registration’.
Your Form Tutor will be the member of staff who
will get to know you the best.
In this message, you could talk about what you’re
looking forward to at SWCHS and what you might
be a bit anxious about. You could also use this as
a chance to tell them something about yourself
which you haven’t yet shared in this booklet!
