Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas is a registered trust with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, established in the year 2017-18, under the Article 4 of the Madhya Pradesh Public Trust Act, 1951. Honourable Chief Minister of the state is the presiding Chairman of the trust including fourteen other trustees. The main objective of the Nyas is to disseminate and popularize Advaita Vedanta as expounded by Acharya Shankar, who undoubtedly revived and unied the then existing Sanatan culture, with the aim of creating a better human being, society, nation, world, and eventually better mankind.

INTRODUCTION

Acharya Shankar should be celebrated; and the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta expounded by him be popularized among the masses in these modern times, when the human life and thoughts have become the mere rendition of stress and desperation. In this regard, the Government of Madhya Pradesh is committed to celebrate Acharya Shankar and popularize his works among the masses.

For the fullment of such a pious objective, Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas under the auspices of Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh is working in the service of Acharya Shankar with some ambitious projects at Omkareshwar - The jñana-bhumi of Acharya Shankar.

Bharat, as we see it today, is the longest thriving civilization nourished by the great contributions of numerous great seers and sages, who enriched and revived the cultural and spiritual essence of Bharat. Acharya Shankar or Adi Jagadguru Shankaracharya is one such immaculate personality in the great tradition of Sanatan Dharma. Born in Kerala and educated at Omkareshwar, Shankaracharya worked for the whole undivided Bharat to revive Sanatan Dharma and Bhartiya culture from distortions and conicts of the then existing society. He preached the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, wrote commentaries on Vedantic scriptures and sanitized Hinduism by intellectual discourses, shastrarth across Bharat in such a short span of his life of barely 32 years.

VEDANTA YOUTH CAMP : AWAKENING OF ADVAITA

To popularize Advaita Vedanta among the youths, The NYAS organizes three Vedanta Youth Camps: two Foundation Courses and one Advance Course. The camps are organized at Ashram under the guidance and supervision of Sannyasins/Acharyas.

SWAMI ADVAYANANDA

An accomplished teacher of Vedanta, with many Gita and Upanishad discourse series to his credit, Swami Advayananda has also authored several books such as the Holy Gita Ready Reference, Advanced Vedanta Course, a series of research articles titled ‘Vedanta Unveiled’, to name a few. He has also edited several Vedantic works in English and Sanskrit such as the Foundation Vedanta Course, Bhagavad-gita Course, Ishvara-darshanam and Suktisudha. He has overseen and co-redacted the scholarly publication of the 2-volume work on the Brahmasutra-catussutri. He has also contributed to the research and coordination of the Upanishad Ganga, a television series depicting the wisdom of the Upanishads, which was rst telecast on the Doordarshan Channel.

Swami Advayananda is the In-charge of Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), the Centre for Sanskrit Research and Indic Studies, and a Trustee of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV), Deemed-to-be-University. Inspired by the teachings of the visionary and saint Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, he joined Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai, at the young age of 18 and on completing his Vedantic studies in 1992 was ordained into the dedicated spiritual life by Pujya Gurudev. Later in 2003, he was initiated into the sacred order of sannyasa by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda.

As the In-charge of CIF, and a Trustee of CVV from 2015, he continues to serve the vision of CIF and CVV of furthering the study, research and dissemination of Indian Knowledge Systems and its application in contemporary knowledge elds.

After initially serving the Chinmaya Mission Centres at Kodaikanal and Trichy in Tamilnadu, he guided the Spiritual and Cultural Education at the Chinmaya International Residential School (CIRS), Coimbatore, from 1996-2000. Thereafter in the year 2000, he became Acharya of the Sandeepany Vidyamandir, at Coimbatore, and conducted the Vedanta Course in Tamil-English. Since 2003, he has been serving as In-charge of CIF. From 2011 to 2013, he was Acharya for the 15th Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai.
