FALL IN
LOVE [ with Australia ]
Australia Week 2012 was a great success! We fell in love with Jack Vidgen,
Jamie Durie, Guy Sebastian, The Qantas Choir, surprise guest from American
Idol, Michael Johns and more!
The Tourism Event sponsored by Frosch Travel, welcomed AACC members
and guests looking for fabulous vacations in Australia. A welcoming
tradeshow style reception brought tourism vendors from all over Australia to
showcase the crown jewels of travel destinations. A visit from the Bombora
Vodka Kangaroo and The Qantas Koala rounded out the evening events.
An exciting panel of guest speakers made the 2012 Energy Conference a
great success. Attendees from ExxonMobil, BHP Billiton Petroleum, Chevron,
Apache and more attended this full-day conference to hear the latest
trends in global energy economics.
With loving hearts, we thank all our sponsors, friends and neighbors for a fabulous Australia Week 2012!

These are the stars that shined their light at the 2012 Australia Week at Hilton Houston Post Oak on January 24, 2012.
The stars at night were big and bright while raising money for Project Joy & Hope. Raising an astonishing $57,000 for the local charity, this gala marked the largest in Australia Week 2012 Houston history.
Standing room only? Yes! Several attendees, dressed in their finest were happy to browse the silent auction, place bids and enjoy light appetizers before enjoying the evenings entertainment.
Jamie Durie, Master of Ceremonies, brought energy, star power and more to the gala stage this year. Jamie joined Jack Vidgen and The Qantas Choir in a surprise ending that opened this years event.
Australia Week 2012 greeted media representatives from KHOU Great Day Houston, Fox 26 News Houston, Backstage Press and more! Live Tweeting and social media elements were added this year to enhance the Aussie experience. The festivities continued with an after party where guests enjoyed the rest of the evening, dancing the night away!

Rounding out the
Australia Week
Festivities, an action-packed
day of BBQ, Cricket and Netball
matches brought in a diverse
group of Aussies, Brits and
Americans to Bear Creek Park. Men
and women from all
neighborhoods of Houston met to
duke it out in their homelands’
renowned sports: Netball and
cricket.
While kiddiewinks bounced in a
jumping castle, onlookers sipped
on authentic Aussie coldies amber
fluids, and all basked in the
beautiful weather. The women
kicked off the event with their
annual Netball match, followed by
the men’s cricket tournament. A
determined group of Brits battled
last year’s champions, the
formidable Aussies.
After four grueling hours of a close
match, the Brits’ fortitude and
resilience ultimately snatched the
trophy from under the Aussies.
Halfway through the gripping
game, players and their families
gathered to appease their huge
appetites with local Aussie tucker:
grilled sausages, steaks,
homemade artisan rolls, salads,
and scrumptious Aussie desserts
and lollies. Amidst the brilliant
yellow rays of sunshine and crystal
clear skies, kites soared and the
Australian flag wafted proudly.
A successful event that paid great
homage to the pastimes of Oz, the
AACC BBQ, Cricket and Netball
Match wrapped up Australia Week
with a bang!
