There is a restaurant where you can eat and enjoy with your friends and families. It is nice place to eat when you are at Central Park. You can also rent a boat to go around the lake!

You can sometimes just relax and sit on benches and just enjoy the beautiful view of the green grass and trees!

This is one of the statues in Central Park. The Alice in Wonderland statue where many people take pictures of.

This is a fountain that is located right across the lake from the boathouse restaurant. It is called the Bethesda Fountain which is was built in 1864. It is also a very famous fountain in Central Park where many people go and see the spectacular fountain. It is also a very good place to meet with other people.

Strawberry Fields is a place where it is commemorating John Lennon from the musical group, The Beetles. They always have a remembrance celebration for his death at Strawberry Fields. His house is also very close to Strawberry fields where it is right across the street.

There are also horse carriages where you can ride on and can feel like you are back in the time roaming around in Central Park.

There are so many wildlife in Central Park where you can take pictures of! You can tour birds by just signing up or just look at them on your own. There are many unique birds and fish. You can go an event by fishing and catching fish for fun!

There are many open places where you can have picnics, play outdoors or just relax and look at the amazing view of Central Park.

   The History Behind Central Park

Built between the years of 1857 and 1859 and located in the center of Manhattan on 59th street to 110th street on the east side, and west side. A national park and an 843-acred park founded from a man named Fredrick Law Olmsted and his assistant and co-designer, Calvert Vaux. Fredrick Law Olmsted had won a contest called the “Greensward Plan” for the best design for the national park. Set out to the public in the winter of 1859 and received more than seven million visitors in a year. Before, the wealthier people arrived in to Central Park in fashion by coming from horse carriages. The Ventral Park started to grow famous in 1871. The Making of Central Park 

Central Park took 10 million dollars and loads of materials to make Central Park. They needed to build 30 tennis courts, 26 ball fields, 21 playgrounds, one carousel, 2 ice rinks and one swimming pool. They also needed, 9,000 benches and 29 statues to put all around Central Park. You can probably get a sense of how much material they needed for an 843-acred park!

Events at Central Park  There are so many special events at Central Park where you can enjoy! There are many

festivals, exhibits, tours and many concerts to enjoy with your friends and family. Some can be on holidays and/or special days for Central Park. You can check the central park website to learn more about the events happening in Central Park.  

There are so many things to do and learn about Central Park as you walk on the grass of the widely popular national park in the world. Many people from all around the world just to come and visit Central Park. Maybe the next time you set your foot on it, you should think of how much work it took for you to just lay your foot on the land of our beloved park sitting right in the center of NYC.
