A Taste of Colorado Announces Classic Rock Tribute Stage Lineup

From the music of The Eagles to Van Halen, free performances by classic rock tribute bands get guests singing along at Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park, September 2-5

DENVER – (August 4, 2016) – High-energy performances of rock classics from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s return to the Classic Rock Tribute Stage presented by 103.5 The Fox at the 33rd Annual A Taste of Colorado, produced by the Downtown Denver Partnership. The four-day, free admission, music, food, shopping, and family-fun festival will take place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-5, in Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park. Kicking off the Classic Rock Tribute Stage on Friday, Juba Juba! will get the crowd moving with its mixture of new and original grooves with classic Grateful Dead songs, for which the band is well-known in the Colorado music scene. Later, Greeley’s own Rumors will take festivalgoers on a journey through the best of Fleetwood Mac, followed by The Long Run, “Colorado’s Tribute to the Eagles”. With a sound many could easily mistake for The Eagles themselves, The Long Run, “Colorado’s Tribute to the Eagles,” is sure not to disappoint when they close the show on Friday. The fun continues on Saturday with the music of Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, Styx and Led Zeppelin. Based in Longmont, Paradise Theatre is comprised of veteran musicians who authentically capture and bring to the stage Styx’s unique blend of pop rock, hard rock guitar, strong ballads and elements of musical theater. Then, fans of Led Zeppelin will not want to miss a chance to rock on to their favorite tunes with Zeppephilia at the end of the night. Attendees will get a taste of The Who on Sunday morning with The Substitutes, followed by REMember: A Tribute to R.E.M. Next, in the evening, the crowd will find it hard to resist My Blue Sky’s renditions of The Allman Brothers’ classics like “Ramblin’ Man,” and is sure to be captivated by JOURNEY THRU TIME’S performance which recreates the spirit, sound and experience of a live Journey performance. On the final day of A Taste of Colorado, Trouble in the Heartland – Colorado’s first and best Bruce Springsteen tribute band – will grace the stage first with its seven-piece band featuring vocals, saxophone, keyboard, guitars, harmonica, bass and drums. Next up will be My Old School playing beloved Steely Dan tunes, and Van Wholen performing the hits of Van Halen. 6 Million Dollar Band is set to get guests grooving one more time, with its ‘80s new wave dance hits, for the stage’s grand finale.
