DESCRIPTION
This paper describes and illustrates a task-based writing curriculum for ESL and EFL student writers, which shifts the pedagogical focus away from language proficiency per se onto writing expertise. The goal is for student-writers to learn how to express successfully compelling and appropriate ideas within the prescribed essay type and for an academic reader.
