Earlier this week, the Dover Mail

was on its way towards Dover, was

intercepted by a mysterious man, presumed

to be a thief. Then the mysterious man

stopped his horse a bit after the carriage

stopped, causing one of the passengers to

leave the carriage talking to the man. Later

we discover that the one leaving the carriageis called, Jarvis Lorry, an employ at

Tellson¶s bank, and the mystery man is

called, Jerry Cruncher, a messenger for

Tellson¶s. When we interviewed the

passengers, they all said that they were

scared of being robbed from, in the middle

A

few days later, a cask of wine was dropped

outside of the Defarge¶s wine shop, causing

a mass ³pandemic´ in the streets of St.

Antoine. Seeing the sight of the wine, the people that were on the streets, dropped all

of the belongings that they were holding,

and scrambled towards the wine. They

started slurping up every ounce of wine off

of the streets. One man even decided to

write the words blood, like this is

representing something, on the floor. As

soon as all of the wine was gone, the streets

of St. Antoine was back to the way it

original was.

During the month of March, there

was a trial against the prosecution of Charles

Darnay; his presumed crime was being a

French spy, going against Britain. As

witnesses, Dr. Manette, Lucie Manette, and

Jarvis Lorry were each called up towards the

stand to tell their story because each one of them were on the same

boat the Darnay was on

that was crossing the

English Channel that night

five years ago. Because of

Lucie Manette s story of

what had happened that

night, and because of

Jerry Cruncher s

statement that it might have been someone

else whom looks like Darnay could have been

the spy, proved Darnay s innocence during the

trial.

This summer, a called by the name of

the Monseigneur da Marquis St. Evermonde s

carriage ran over a child in the streets. As

feeling no sympathy towards Gaspard, the

child s father, he looks in dismay and just threw

a coin at the sobbing

man, and said, How do I

know what injury you

have done to my horses?

As of him caring for

nothing else, except for

his own belongs and what

belongs to the Marquis.

As he started to move

away from the corpse, the coin that he threw

out was thrown back into the carriage, angering

the Marquis, making him say something like

that he would run over everybody, if he wanted

to. Yet another crime committed by one with

nobility, and yet nothing happened, and nothing

will happen.

During this summer, Lucie Manette was

sort of confronted by three men for her hand in

marriage, Sydney Carton, Charles Darnay, and

Mr. C.J. Stryver. Charles Darnay was a man that

the family could trust, and could be responsible,

so Mr. Darnay went to talk to Dr. Manette,

before confronting with Lucie.

Mr. Stryver was a man, whom the

Manette family doesn t really put a lot of their

trust in. He decided to confront with Mr. Lorry

about his plans to confront Lucie, and ask her

for a hand in marriage. However, with Mr.

Lorry s knowledge, he tells Stryver not to do it.

Mr. Carton sort of confronted Lucie, but

1781

I don t think that it is for marriage. In his talk

with Lucie, Carton says everything that he

wasn t able to accomplish, and that he is a

disappointment in life and that he has no

purpose, but Lucie showed him that he was able

to do great things in his life, making Carton

more optimistic.

Today, the Bastille Prison in Paris,

France is being attacked by Paris own people.

These groups of people that are attacking the

Bastille s leaders are the Defarges, each one

taking charge of their own group. The males are

the ones that are in the front attacking, and

bringing the

drawbridges down,

so that the women

are able to go in,

and be in a part of

the fight with them.

These

people are not all

carrying what you

might find that is

considered a

weapon. Some of the people are carrying

cooking knives, others are carrying parts of their

house, and others are handling muskets with no

gun powder. Whatever these people found or

able to pick up, and that they are able to use to

kill others with, is considered a weapon for

these them.

In August, Darnay (the nephew of

the murdered Marquis St. Everemonde)

received a letter from Gabelle, the tax

collector of the Marquis family in France, to

come and rescue him, and take him out of

prison. Because Darnay cannot ignore this

plea from a faithful servant, he goes to Paris

to try and bail Gabelle of prison. However, as soon as Darnay enters

France, he is arrested for being an emigrant.

Because of all the events that are

going on right now, we

can¶t determine what

Gabelle¶s fate was by

the time when Darnay

came to Paris, and got

arrested.

1792

As soon as the Manette family heard

of Darnay¶s imprisonment in France, they

went to France to try and get him free. The

four, including Ms. Pross and Little Lucie,

traveled to Paris, and arrived in September.

Dr. Manette tries to use his influence by

being a former prisoner from the Bastille

prison.With Dr. Manette¶s influence, they

were able to free Darnay from the La Force

prison. With Darnay free, the whole crowd

carried Darnay out of

the court room,

cheering for his release.

However, later that day,

some soldiers came into

their house and took

Darnay away,

imprisoning him.
