Student Feedback
“It’s good because you get the college
experience early and get some credits
knocked out in high school.”
“…they treat you more like an adult than a
student.”
“College classes are much more
challenging, but they are fun as well.”

TCC Challenges and Solutions
TCC Faculty
skeptical of high
school teachers’
ability to provide a
“collegiate
experience” at high
school locations.
Developed CEP
guidelines based on
NACEP standards.
Implemented Faculty
Liaison model.
Close collaboration
with Faculty
Association.
TPS Challenges and Solutions
High School student rules and regulations that conflict with College rules and regulations.
Adding college student behavior expectations to the high school code of conduct and meeting with students, high school administration, and college instructors before classes start to clarify procedures.
UPS Challenges and Solutions
Some EXCELerateFaculty will not share student grades with UPS counselors and eligibility officers
UPS would like to identify struggling students and offer interventions early in the semester
All EXCELerateinstructors must post grades electronically so students can print copies to share with UPS counselors and administrators
EXCELerateinstructors let students know when they are failing
