According to MR.R.PRADEEP (2009) Employee welfare is a

comprehensive term including various services, benefits and facilities offered

to employees and by the employers. Through such generous fringe benefits

the employer makes life worth living for employees. Welfare includes

anything that is done for the comfort and improvement of employees and isprovided over and above the wages.

The term morale has been criticized as being too vague (Roethlisberger,

1941), more recently, Weakliem and Frenkel (2006) suggest the term

employee morale is an underlying concept of many of the noted constructs

and should be used as a general term to refer to feelingabout ones job.
