All novels have characters. Characters are who the novel is about. They usually experience changes and challenges during different points in the novel.

The setting is where and when a story takes place. Setting plays a very important role in Tuck Everlasting. We will write about the part setting plays in the novel.

Plot tells what happens in the story. The plot usually has a climax – the most important part of the story. All action before the climax is calling “ascending action.” All events after the climax is called “descending action.”

You will work in small groups to create plot diagrams for Tuck Everlasting.
