Thank you for sharing this experience. One of the most remarkable human beings in history, a man named Sir Winston Churchill, once said: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” Such words are powerful and so meaningful when we talk about such virtues as motivation, perseverance and the will to achieve. You may not have it easy and you may fall or fail when you strive to make good things happen. It is only when you rise above this and continue despite the difficulties, that you see a meaning and a value that moves you to want to go further and make something even better. Those who go the extra mile, take the time to bring out the best in others or get the job done right are those who make a difference. This is what we want to acknowledge and honor at this time. It takes work with drive and dedication, passion and perseverance to make something successful. Those who know this execute it without hesitation and without grief. However the difficulty factor or the challenge, the best outcome is the goal and the seeker of this is the one who works for the benefit of humanity. Selflessness is part of this equation and it is a beautiful one indeed. This is excellence and we appreciate and honor it. All of you are partaking in a process that has been evolving and continues to in an age where science, technology and the human condition are all interconnecting at speeds never seen before. Every moment counts and the motions and decisions you make in the moment can change the course of everything. Making the best decision may not always happen but that does not stop the will and spirit of the person who seeks to attain the best for whatever the need. Eventually and perhaps even quickly, the best can happen for the benefit of one or perhaps all. We cannot expect to be successful every moment, every hour or however long but we can strive to do what makes sense and reduces the agony and pain of what exists or what lies ahead. We honor you all and special recognition is being made to those who have been voted by their peers and/or supervisors - our ACES, as we have traditionally done, for the difference they make in this company. May you all enjoy the moment and share in the celebration of excellence! With utmost gratitude, Maria Scunziano-Singh, MD Pariksith Singh, MD

The winners of the ACES awards are nominated by fellow team members. There are several categories and winners are chosen based on the information provided as to why an employee feels someone deserves such award rather than number of votes for a particular individual. Every person who received at least one nomination was listed on a large board put on display at the banquet. The actual winners were individually called up to receive their awards while Dr. Benson and Juan Triana, Masters of Ceremony read aloud some of the wonderful comments written about the winners’ hard work, spirit, teamwork, leadership, likeability, and dedication. Not only did they receive recognition and a trophy, they also each received 8 HOURS OF PAID TIME OFF!!
