Auctioneer’s Notes

This sale of straw behind the combine allows buyers the opportunity to purchase small

or large quantities at a central sale venue.

The Lots as described are available for inspection at all reasonable times, preferably by

telephoning the Vendors with an indication of your pending visit to ensure that

someone is available to show you the Lots on offer.

Conditions of Sale

1 The Auctioneer’s usual Conditions of Sale appertaining to the Sale of Goods will

apply.

2 The Vendors will give Purchasers as much notice as possible of their intention to

combine the crop.

3 Purchasers will be required to remove the straw from the field within seven days

of the crop being combined.

4 All the straw will be sold on a per acre or per bale basis.

5 The Vendors will use a combine as detailed in the catalogue.

6 The Vendors will ensure the crops are cut as short as possible (max 6’’ height) and

leave the straw in a swath behind the combine.

7 Purchasers are to effect insurance from the fall of the hammer, as the Vendors

accept no liability for damage which may occur to the straw after purchase.

8 Howkins & Harrison and the Vendors reserve the right to change the lotting

details; any changes will be announced at the time of sale.

9 The Auctioneers will be giving options to purchase a combination of Lots – details

of which will be given at the sale.

10 Payment is strictly due on the night of the sale.

DIRECTIONS: Stretton-en-le-Field is situated approximately 6 miles from Twycross. When

travelling on the A5 at Redgate junction take the A444 signposted Burton (A444). Continue on the

A444 for approx 10½ miles until reaching the roundabout. At the roundabout take the third exit

and stay on the A444, and Park Farm can be found on the left-hand side after approximately

½ mile.

NOTES: The Vendor will be cutting the crops in a 7.70m swath using a Claas Tucano Hybrid

DIRECTIONS: Heather is situated approx. 7 miles north of Market Bosworth. When travelling

north through Heather, continue past Heather St John’s FC and Throntree Farm is situated

straight after on the left-hand side.

NOTES: The Vendor will be cutting the crops in a 9.10m swath using a New Holland 9080 Rotary

Combine. The straw will be baled by the Vendor using a Massey Ferguson 187 Baler (2.4m x 1.2m

x 0.9m Bales). The bales will be a maximum of 16% moisture when baled. The bales will be

stacked on the headland by the vendor but must be removed within a week of being baled. The

seller will load the bales and there is good access for lorries and lorry and drags. The auctioneer

estimated there will be approximately 2½ bales to the acre. If the purchaser has a part lorry load,

then the Vendor will make up the lorry load with Spring Barley Straw at the same price. The

bales will be sold on a per bale basis.
