A seminar on creating awareness about Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling

especially in NRI belt of Punjab and to enhance cooperation between District

Administration/District Police Kapurthala and U.S. Security agency for investigation to

resolve cases relating to illegal human Traffic/Human smuggling.

A Seminar on Human Trafficking/Human Smuggling was conducted at

Conference Hall, D.C. Office Kapurthala on 19.06.2018 by District Police Kapurthala in

consultation with American Embassy. The Seminar was presided over by Sh. Mohammad

Tayyab, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala. This seminar was organized under the

Chairmanship of Sh. Sandeep Kumar Sharma PPS, Sr. Supdt. of Police, Kapurthala and

Sh. Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, PPS, Supdt. of Police, Hqrs Kapurthala. The guests from USA Embassy

viz Mr. William Jerry Aylward, Vice Counsel and Assistant Regional Security Officer

Investigation, Embassy of U.S.A. in India along with his team consisting of Mr. Rabortson

Tongbra, Criminal Fraud Investigator and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Tyagi, Criminal Fraud Investigator.

These guests delivered a detailed presentation on Human Trafficking/Smuggling and recent

fraud techniques used by illegal travel agents. This knowledge based seminar was followed by

translation of presentation in Punjabi and “lecture on legal modalities concerning illegal

migration “ by Sh. Sundeep Singh Mand, PPS, DSP/Sub Div. Bholath.

Altogether around 80-90 Police officers and officers from civil

administration participated in the event. Sh. Rahul Chabba, ADC Kapurthala , Sh A.S Bhullar

ADC(Dev) Kapurthala, Ms Nayan Bhullar S.D.M Kapurthala , Dr. Sumit Mudh, Assistant

Commissioner (Gen) Kapurthala and Dr Shayari Malhotra PCS, Assistant Commissioner

(Grievances) also participated in this seminar.
