• A Seminar •
The University of the Cordilleras and the Asian Center for Engineering Computations and Software (ACECOMS) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, will host the seminar : “Computer Applications in Civil and Structural Engineering” on May 17 & 18, 2010, at the UC Auditorium, Baguio City. The seminar will be conducted by : Dr. Naveed Anwar, Director of ACECOMS, and Professor, School of Civil Engineering, AIT, Thailand.
The seminar is intended to provide exposure to state-of-the-art information on computing technology, tools and software --- for application to Civil Engineering in general and Structural Engineering in particular:
• GRASP for structural analysis in 2D
• GEAR for the design of structural members
• ETABS for analysis and design of buildings
• SAP2000 for advanced structural modeling and analysis
• learnCIVIL, a new tool for teaching and learning civil engineering curriculum
• Seminar Overviews •
• Analysis of tall buildings, bridges, & large span structures
• Computing paradigms, methodologies, tools and technologies
• Graphic visualization, animation and virtual reality
• Finite Element method
• Static, dynamic, linear and nonlinear analysis
• Performance-based design
Registration Fees :
Php2,500.00 for each participant to cover seminar materials, certificate, lunch & snacks.
