Background:

After concrete efforts of our Management, the students of BES’Sgot this esteemed opportunity to have an Industrial visit to a prestigious company like Sudhir Gensets, Gravity India Pvt Ltd and Nilkamal Plastics India ltd. We appreciate the efforts of the management of MMS for executing this successful Industrial trip.

The Journey Begins…. We reached Sudhir Gensets at Silvassa. We headed to the Production units at the industry in different groups wherein they explained us the entire process of producing the Deisel generators,

The Company has a wide blue-chip customer base and operates through multiple manufacturing facilities across India and focuses on Diesel & Gas Generators, 

We then left the place and went for the another industry which is a textile industry named Gravity India pvt ltd,

This industry is into manufacturing of clothes, we saw how the cloth is actually made with the threads.

After completing the textile industry, we then headed towards our third Industry i.e Nil Kamal India ltd

Quiet dynamism characterises the Company. Maintaining leadership in its market segments through core values and hard work is a basic tenet driving the Company. Manufacturing and Selling Strengths

The Company has 7 large manufacturing plants in India:

* North – Samba (Jammu & Kashmir) and Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh)* East - Barjora (West Bengal)* West - Sinnar, Nashik (Maharashtra) and Silvassa    (Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli) (2 plants).* South – Pondicherry (Union Territory)

The Company has advanced machinery in Injection Moulding, Rotational

Moulding, Vaccum Forming, Polyurethane Injection (of insulation) and capabilities for SMC and Blow Moulding. Each of these plants have dedicated Tool Rooms.

Occupying a massive total contructed area of 11,33,738 sq ft, all of Nilkamall’s manufacturing plants are ISO 9001/2008 Certified and practice 6 Sigma manufacturing process. This extensive manufacturing infrastructure is ably supported by our wide and strong sales network, operating through 49 Regional Offices and 33 Warehouses spread across India. All the Nilkamal plants, warehouses and offices are connected to the Head Office in real time by ERP, SAP-R3.

GRAVITY (INDIA) LTD.

The company operates manufacturing plants located in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, India. It produces such products as cotton, polyster cotton, and polyster viscosse suiting fabrics, as well as shirting fabrics. The company also manufactures industrial fabrics.

Gravity has an installed capacity of 48 Sulzer automatic weaving machines with a capacity of 350,000 meters per month. It exports its products to various countries in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The company’s products are marketed under the brand name Gravity.

Description and history

The Company is mainly engaged in the manufacture and export of textile fabrics in India. The Company was incorporated on 13th March 19871in India as a Private Limited Company under the name and style of Gravity Silk Mills Private Limited.it is listed on Bombay stock exchange .1994 – The Company was subsequently converted into a Public Limited Company on 28th September, in terms of the special resolution passed on 31st August, under the name and style of Gravity Silk Mills Limited and was registered with the Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra, at Mumbai.

- The Company started its manufacturing activities in Masat, Silvassa, Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli in the year 1989 by setting up a project for the manufacture of grey fabrics for suiting and shirting.–Originally incorporated as Gravity Silk Mills Limited–

Opinion

It was my first Industrial visit to any manufacturing plant and enjoyed every bit of it. To be a part of such an esteemed organization and having a look through all their process was an intriguing experience after all.
