IRS announces 2016 Standard Mileage Rates

The IRS has released the 2016 optional standard mileage rates to be used bytaxpayers to compute deductible costs of operating an automobile forbusiness, medical, moving and charitable purposes. These rates, which areeffective January 1, 2016, reflect the recent decrease in the cost of gas.

Business Mileage RateThe standard mileage rate for business mileage will be 5 4 cents per m ile,decreased by three and a half cents from the 2015 rate.

Medical and Moving Mileage RateThe standard mileage rate for medical and moving expenses will be 19 centsper mile, decreased by four cents from the 2015 rate.

Charitable Mileage RateThe standard mileage rate for charitable purposes remains at 14 cents.

Heather S. BarberiExecutive Director

Ocean County College Foundation

Heather Barberi has been the Executive Director at the Ocean County College Foundation(OCCF) since May 2014. Prior to joining OCCF, Heather began her career in the non-profitarena and then moved into the corporate marketing sector. At OCCF, Heather is taskedwith overseeing all the day to day operations of the organization, as well as developingand carrying out the strategic fundraising plan for the Foundation to generate revenue andcreate productive and supportive relationships with the community, local businesses,organizations, and shareholders.

The Ocean County College Foundation, a private non-profit organization, was founded in1965 and is dedicated to the growth and development of the College through scholarships,endowments, and capital and special projects. Originally established to providescholarships to students attending OCC, the Foundation has greatly expanded its supportto both college and community programs that enhance the lives of students and localresidents.
