Mrs. Mitchell Has Been Named D-backs Most Valuable Teacher

The American Sign Language Club at Glen-

dale High School celebrated Deaf Aware-

ness month the week of September 17-23.

During the school day, the students wore a

signs saying they were deaf. Others en-

countering them outside of the classroom

were asked to sign or write to them in order

to communicate.

Additionally, members of the club signed the

National Anthem during Glendale’s first

home football game on September 23rd.

Our very own Amanda Mitchell was just awarded the D-backs Most Valuable Teachers (D-backs MVTs). She was nominated by GHS student Sarah Coffey and has been selected as a D-backs MVT! As a D-backs MVT she was invited to come to Chase Field on Friday, August 26 for a special pregame recognition where she will be honored along with nine other teachers. The best part? She received a check for $1000 to use in her classroom! Congratulations Mrs. Mitchell.

Monday August 8th, 2016, we welcomed our in-

coming Freshmen, the graduating class of

2020. Our link leaders did a terrific job ensuring

that all Freshmen felt welcomed and were able to

transition to high school smoothly. Great job link

leaders and welcome Freshmen.
