“Introduction Of The Company”

• NBC Bearings is the premier brand of India’s leading bearings manufacturer and exporter company, founded in 1946 by the great industrialist late “Shri B.M.Birla”.

• NBC is a pioneer, renowned for excellence in quality and delivery for over 60 years.

• NBC produces over 100 million bearings each year in more than 1000 sizes to serve a host of varied customers across India and 21 other countries in 5 continents.

• It has the capacity to develop bearings from 10 mm bore to 2000 mm outer diameter. The product range includes ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, double row angular contact (DRAC) bearings, cylindrical and spherical roller bearings.

• With increasing activities and grant of industrial licenses for other vital industries and manufacturing, the name of the company was changed in 1958 to ‘National Engineering Industries Ltd.’ retaining its original trade mark NBC.

“MILESTONES”• The progress years for NBC are:

•In 1946 NBC founded in jaipur by Technical Collaboration with Hoffman USA.•In 1950 Ball Bearing production started.•In 1958 Company is renamed “NATIONAL ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES LTD.” (NEI) NBC trademark retained.•In 1967 Tapered Roller Bearing division launched.•In 1975 Spherical Roller Bearing production begins.•In 1981 second plant launched in Newai.•In 2007 third plant launched in Manesar.

• NEI is one of the largest domestic bearing manufactures with gross annual turnover of Rs.1051 crores in 2010-11.

• Over the past 60 years, NBC, has grown to be the leading and fastest growing bearings brand in India and currently produces over 100 million bearings in more than a 1000 sizes every year.

• It has the capacity to develop bearings from 10 mm bore to

2000 mm outer diameter. • The company exports bearings to more than 20 countries and

leading customers from US, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Australia etc.

• NBC clocked a top-line of INR 1362 Crores in 2012-13.  Having grown at a CAGR of 17.8%

• In 2008 NEI received the “TPM Excellence Award.• In 2010 NEI awarded with “DEMING Award” for best

quality management by Japan.• In 2012 NEI received the “ACMA Award” for

manufacturing and technical excellence.

Industrial and Railways applications. • Ball Bearing: A ball bearing is a type of rolling-element bearing that

uses balls to maintain the separation between the moving parts of the bearings.

• The purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads.

Tapered Roller Bearing: Tapered Roller bearings are generally separable, which means the cone assembly, consisting of the inner ring with roller and cage, can be mounted separately.

Cylindrical Roller Bearing: These bearings have a high radial load capacity and are suitable for high speeds.

Spherical Roller Bearing: Spherical roller bearings are self-aligning bearings designed for heavy radial loading.

• It was a knowlegible experience for me while training in NBC.
