Liturgy
Right after his ordination to Episcopacy, which took place
in Saint George Cathedral, Southfield, MI, our new Vicar
Bishop Andrei pontificated his first Hierarchal Liturgy in
Cleveland, last Sunday, February 2nd.
His Grace came from Detroit together with His Eminence
Archbishop Nathaniel and His Eminence Archbishop
Benjamin of San Francisco.
An assembly of 10 Priests and three deacons assisted the
new Bishop. Over 450 faithful attended the service and the
festive banquet staged by the parish.
We send our gratitude to the organizers: the Parish
Council, the Ladies Auxiliary of the parish and the parish
youth that served at the tables, Doru Inoan-sound, Petrică
Porfireanu and Greg Sotak video-photos and all our faithful
and visitors!

”What does God want from
YOU?”
Do you ever think about what you want from
God? It’s good to pray to God and ask Him for health,
for strength, to help you be better at things. But did you
ever wonder what God wants from YOU?
Today is the Sunday of the Publican and the
Pharisee,you know, the day we hear the Gospel reading
about the two men who went into the temple to pray. One
of them was proud and bragging. The other (the one we
want to be like) “would not even lift up his eyes to
heaven…” but he said “God be merciful to me, a sinner!”
Not too long ago, a saintly and very humble man
lived in Greece. His name was Elder Paisios (now he’s a
saint). Lots of people knew he was a holy man, so they
would ask him for advice. They wanted to know how
they could become holy, too! St. Paisios would always
tell people how important it was to be humble—like the
man in the Gospel today.
“The only thing Christ is asking us is our humility.
The rest is taken care of by His grace.” We don’t want to
show off and try to make ourselves look great. We want
to put others first. We want to be humble. That’s it! If we
can be humble, God will take care of everything else.
What God wants from YOU is that you are humble. God
will help us with everything else!

CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART
FREE EVENT
The Cleveland Museum of Art has announced the world
premiere by the noted composer, Aleksandra Vrebalov
that was commissioned by the museum. The only
requirement for her work was to be inspired by the
museum's collection. Her source of inspiration came
from the icon of the Virgin Eleousa Icon in the CMA
Byzantine Gallery.
This will be held at the Cleveland Museum of Art on
Friday, March 27, 7:30 pm in the galleries and in the
Atrium.
This extraordinary performance includes members of the
Serbian Kovilj Monastery choir and will be a unique
opportunity for all Orthodox Christians.
Teachers and Parents,
If anyone is interested in having a get-together and
participate to this event, please tell Mrs. Mihaela
Hetruc. If we gather a group of students with their
parents, we can organize a car-pool and spend a great
evening together.
