A Parent’s Guide By Ryan Evans & Paula Basedow
Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way.
The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
About Google Classroom
■ Classroom includes time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google document for each student.
■ It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized.
■ Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.
Google Classroom from the App Launcher
■ Launch (open) Google Chrome
■ Make sure you are signed into Google
■ Click on the App Launcher (waffle icon)
on the top right
■ Click The Google Classroom icon
■ Click the I am a Student button
Note: Students can get to Google Classroom by typing Google
Classroom in the Search bar

Student Schedule
Parent SummaryWhen guardians accept an invitation to Google Classroom, they receive regular, automatic email summaries. They get these for each of their children. Guardians choose the frequency of the emails (daily or weekly).
What’s in the email summaries to guardians?
● Missing work: Any missing work that’s not been turned in at the time the update was sent
● Upcoming work: Work that is due today or tomorrow, or upcoming● Class activity: Any class activity, such as questions or assignments.
Pretty much anything the teacher has posted, including announcements.
Note: Email summaries do not include grades.
