Happy Valentine's Day!
How strange that Saint Valentine, a pastor in the Roman Empire who ministered to persecuted Christians and was martyred for his faith, is celebrated by giving chalky-tasting heart -haped candy with "I ♡ U" written on it.
I hope you get something sweet from your sweetheart or neighbor or aunt. I hope you send cards to lots of folks with chubby cherubs saying "I love you."
Just remember, there are a lot of ways to say "I love you".
Below are some alternatives…
"I made you brownies."
"Text me when you get there."
"Can I get your plate?"
"I'd love to know what you think about it."
"I am truly sorry. Please forgive me."
"Let's get chicken wings."
"Don't mess with your phone while you're driving."
"Let's not talk about politics right now."
"How can I pray for you?"
"How is your dad doing?"
"I made you coffee."

Mission of the Month
Camp GuilRock has been in ministry for 50 years serving all people helping them “Discover Creation, Experience Christ and Grow in Faith.” Throughout the year we host a wide variety of groups here on the property. From Boy Scouts to family reunions, our property helps host events, retreats, and campouts for all people. Then as summer comes our focus turns to our Day Camp Program. This summer we will be having 9 weeks of day camp for children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade. This ministry reached over 150 campers last summer and we hope to continue to see it grow as we move into this summer. Whether it is as a camper, volunteer, or guest we would love to have you come visit us at Camp GuilRock.
For more information visit our website at www.campguilrock.org.
A Note From the Pastor (continued from Page 1)
"You don't have to talk about it. I just wanted to sit with you for awhile."
"What do you love about college? What's the hardest part?"
"10th grade? Can I introduce you to Harrison? Our youth are doing some really cool stuff."
"I'm not sure if we agree on that one, but I love you."
"This is the body and blood of Christ. Do this in remembrance of him who died for you."
"I really appreciate all you do."
"What is your favorite song now?"
"I think your child will love our children's ministry."
"I made you more brownies."
Of course, Jesus washing the feet of his disciples reminds us that the best "I love you" isn't words but everyday actions.
Laundry = Love
Putting your phone down = Love
Dishes = Love
Listening = Love
Cooking = Love Changing Oil = Love
Teaching Sunday School = Love Gas money to a college student = Love
Snacks to a youth group = Love Driving Senior Citizens on an outing = Love
Tell someone you love them today, better yet... Show someone you love them.
"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:5

Nurses Notes
Stress is an unavoidable part of our lives. Although we can't avoid stress altogether, we can lessen its impact by the way we respond to it. The first step is to identify your stressors and recognize how you react to them. Then try one of the following ideas:
1. Consider a number of easy things you can do in the comfort of your home, on the job or out in the community to manage stress. Activities such as listening to music, sighing deeply or yawning loudly while stretching your arms overhead are effective. These simple techniques help release tension before continuing with the task at hand.
2. Another technique is diaphragmatic or deep breathing, which focuses your attention on taking slow deep breaths. Breathe in through your nose, trying to bring the air in deep down toward your belly while keeping your chest motionless. Then exhale the breath through your mouth.
3. Progressive muscle relaxation is a technique that will help you distinguish between tense and relaxed muscles. First, tense your muscles in groups, starting at your head and then move down to your toes, taking note of how your muscles feel when you purposely tense them followed by their release or relaxation.
4. Another commonly used stress relief strategy is meditation. Meditation is the practice of intentionally focusing your attention on one thing at a time. Many people use a word or phrase as a point of focus when they meditate.
No matter the technique, it is important to be in a comfortable position for the best relaxation response. Try a combination of these techniques. The approaches mentioned here are some of the simplest to use, but there are many other techniques out there. You have multiple resources to aid in stress management at your fingertips, literally. Free cellphone apps are available to use at your convenience. Give one a try!

Greetings,
Join our mission team to Kanyaka, Democratic Republic of the Congo!
1. Help build a Children's Home for Child Action Initiative (CAI). 2. We leave from Greensboro on June 24 and return on July 7. 3. The total team fee is $3,000. 4. The deadline for application and $750 deposit is March 1, 2020.
The team fee balance will be due no later than May 3, 2020.
We need a team of at least 10 to get group airline tickets. Without the group airline tickets it is likely that we will not be able to go. Please prayerfully consider joining the team.
We had planned to go last year but had to put it off. The construction has already begun so our team will be helping out with final stages of construction. The building should be fully functional and in service very soon after our team returns home.
Many of you know about the ministry. Child Action Initiative (CAI) is based in Kasungami, Democratic Republic of the Congo and has been caring for orphans due to AIDS and civil war since 2006. The children have been housed with relatives including great grandparets, neighbors, friends and villagers. However, there are not enough homes for orphans and there is a need for a Children’s Home.
CAI currently has 100 children in school from first to twelfth grade and students that aged out of school are enrolled in vocational education. Some of the young men graduates are working in masonry, carpentry and as machinists. A few young women have started a sewing shop and others are learning to knit, sew and crochet. High school graduate students are able to find jobs.
Isaiah Njimbu Chot, founder and Executive Director of CAI, also the first recipient of the ORUMC Africa University Scholarship Fund, is heading up the construction project now and is
helping to finalize plans for the trip. Levy Tshota Kayembe graduated from the CAI education program, has attending Africa University and is also a recipient of the ORUMC Africa University Scholarship Fund. If you join the building team you will meet Isaiah and Levy as both will be helping with the Children's Home.
We will need approximately $30,000.00 for building materials and construction costs for the Children's Home. Other needs include a well to provide an adequate supply of water, solar panels and batteries for electricity and a block making machine to be used in vocational training. The block machine will also be a source of income to help with the operating costs of the Children's Home. (continued on Page 6)
