Testing looks a little different for school districts this year. Our 3rd grad- ers and 4th graders will soon take the AIR Test (4th grade Language Arts, Math and Social Studies; 3rd grade Language Arts and Math). Our teachers and students have been preparing for this summative evaluation all year, and students should be very well prepared. We are confident that our students will do their best and show what they have learned this year. As we put the final touches on here at school, we ask that you work with your child at home and review certain topics with your child. If you have any questions on how you can help your child better prepare, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher. The testing schedule is on the next page of the newsletter. Please know which days your child is testing and encourage your child to eat a healthy breakfast, get plenty of rest, and to be confident so they do their best. We thank you for all you have done for your child this year. Some important

things to remember

for testing:

Talk to your student, know about the importance of

homework and classroom participation. The weeks

leading up to testing are very important as staff and

students are working hard to help students do their

best.

Encourage your student to get plenty of rest and eat a

well rounded breakfast each day.

Reassure your child to stay calm when taking the test

and provide them with positive thoughts. (You are

ready, You are smart, etc.)

Take the opportunity to practice skills with your child

when they bring home practice sheets and test prep

materials.

Attendance is very important to

success!!!!

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

We had over 60 students who saved 35 starbucks and were added

Quarter. Congratulations to everyone who earned this reward.

4th Grade’s Rockin’ Recorder Tour of 2016

Under the direction of Elizabeth Beal, The Steven-son Fourth Grade classes of Shannan Ferguson, An-gie Jessmer, Patti Hollender, and selected students from Allison Officer went on their epic Rockin’ Re-

corder Tour of 2016. The tour began with ‘Spaghetti Fest’ on Wednesday March 9th. Here, a massive number of students rocked out their dinnertime tunes in the Stebbins High School cafeteria.

The final stop on the tour was the awesome ‘Pastries With Parents Event’ on Friday, March 18. An expanded concert allowed each class to be fea-tured separately. Big crash cymbals also added ex-citement to the song Ms. Jessmer’s class played. In addition to the sweet recorder tunes there were three vocal selections. Each sung piece also had soloists. Fourth grade understudies and stage crew also did an absolutely awesome job of preparing for a great performance.

During the ‘Bransle’ grand finale, all the perform-ers stormed the Stevenson cafeteria with a massive circle. This song was a combination of Renaissance style recorder playing and dancing.

Congratulations to the following stu-

dents for being selected as their classroom’s stu-

dent of the month. These students will have their

picture displayed in the main hallway all month

long. They also received a Texas Roadhouse
