A Minute With MargieGiving back / Paying it forward
At our heart, we are a volunteer-based organization. Earlier this year, Peninsula Seniors had almost 100 volunteers. The office runs with a skeletal crew of three, and we continue to need your help. Everyone has different gifts, and we thank you for sharing yours with us.
Starting with the May 2020 issue of Connections, we have discontinued advertisements in our monthly newsletter. Doing this pared our 16-page newsletter down to eight pages. Thank you to our advertisers who have supported Peninsula Seniors in this way over the years. We very much appreciate your support.
Your membership continues to be more important now than ever. We hope you will consider an upgrade to your membership at renewal time. Also, as you may know, we have Gift Memberships available.
We are called Peninsula Seniors, but you do not have to live on the Peninsula, and you do not have to be a senior. Thank you for your membership!
Now and into the future, we will remain a resource for the community, where people can learn, stay active, and make life fun!

The gift of giving and unselfishness is an altruistic personality trait closely aligned with people who live longer.
Longtime member and volunteer Betty Clarke gave freely to Peninsula Seniors because she wholeheartedly believed in our mission and vision. She also gave generously in every possible way to Peninsula Seniors. Betty told us often that she felt a sense of community, belonging, and fulfillment from her involvement with Peninsula Seniors.
Betty wasn’t just a member of Peninsula Seniors. She volunteered her time as an accountant for 16 years until she moved to Utah in 2010 to be closer to her son Keith.
Although Betty lived hundreds of miles away, she stayed connected to Peninsula Seniors and spoke with staff and board members often.
She said that her years of volunteering were the best years
of her life. “She dearly loved Peninsula Seniors,” Keith told us.
In addition to volunteering, Betty supported our Capital Campaign, Endowment Fund, and gave regularly to operations.
Betty truly helped to make a difference at Peninsula Seniors!
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Betty Clarke and others like her. We are honored that Betty chose Peninsula Seniors to share her skills, time, money, and friendship.
