Happy Holidays,

Well guys we made it to the end of the year. As most of you already know, I will not be back as Di-

rector next year. Andre has asked Dave H. to take over the reins for the next year, so I’ll ask the entire membership

to give the Dave the same level of respect and cooperation that you have shown me. The chapter is in good hands

with Dave at the wheel.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the entire chapter for a GREAT year. I have been proud to tell everyone

I’ve met that I represented the BEST HOG chapter in Southern California, and rode with the BEST HOG members

anywhere. Each of you have made this a wonderful experience, and I thank you all for the hard work and dedica-

tion that you’ve put into rebuilding our chapter. It wouldn’t have been possible without the hard-working board

members, Road Captains, and everyone that participated in all our events. It’s you the members that make this

chapter what it is. So once again let me say thank you, thank you, thank you, for being the BEST HOG chapter

around.

I wish each of you, health, happiness, and success for this Holiday Season, and I hope each of you get just what you

want from Santa.

Happy Holidays,

Ride safe and we’ll see you on the road!

Pat-C

From the Director Pat C.

Hello My Fellow Chapter Members,

I am extending a “Thank You” to all our members for attending the November Chapter meeting. I

know this is a busy time of year for everyone and I am thankful that we get to share our Holidays to-

gether riding and enjoying each other.

The mystery ride was so much fun and what made it more fun was we truly had no idea where we were going. Den-

ny did such a great job planning and leading the ride.

The Mission was interesting and the ride to the ocean was spectacular.

The year is coming to an end and I am bummed that we have no more LDR rides, but on the flip side I am excited for

the rides and events that we still have scheduled till the end of the 2016 year, including our Chapter Christmas Party.

See You On The Road

DISCOVERING GOLD

BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD

On our way back from Reno about 20 miles south of Lone Pine Ca along a deserted stretch of highway 395, Jim and

I pulled our Harleys off the road to put on warmer clothes. As we were ready to pull away, I felt some thing jump onto the

back seat of my bike. I thought, what the… I turned around and to my surprise, there hanging across the back seat …was this

young golden haired beauty.

“Hey Denny,” Jim yelled.

“Where did that dog come from?”

“I don’t know, but look at her she’s a Golden Lab and a young beauty, I can’t believe she just jumped right on the back of my

bike… she must want to go for a ride.”

“She must belong to some one” Jim said, ”she has a collar.”

“I know, darn it”

This is unreal, while stopping for a couple minutes, out in the middle of nowhere, appears this friendly Golden Lab Retriever,

but not just appears, she jumps right into the passenger seat and is ready to ride the Road King.

Well, after some good laughs and a paw and a hand shake, I gently lifted her off, set her by the side of the road, said

good bye to Goldie, we fired up the Harleys and headed for home.

It’s been two weeks since we left her and I am now looking for an excuse to take the car and see if she is there… wait-

ing for me to rescue her.

Well fall is here and with it comes early morning dampness and cooler temperatures. If you are one

of the early morning riders or very late night getting home persons, you will run into some fog and

the surfaces that condensed water on their surfaces in the wee am hours. Just remember that the painted information

lines (turn arrows) metal manhole covers, steel plates and dead leaves will become slippery. Always try to run over

these items straight on and don't hit your brakes on top of them just like when driving on ice, and you will do fine with

the surfaces. We all know to try to keep warm and think about taking along your rain gear just in case the weather

does turn wet. I hope everyone has some great Holiday's and stay safe my friends.
