A skit on ‘Integrity’ was presented by the team constituting Mrs Madhuri Mittal, Mr Gurdeep Singh, Mr Saranjeet Singh, Mr K K Sharma and Mr Karan. Ethics Pledge was also TCIL OBSERVES NOVEMBER 2016 AS BUSINESS EXCELLENCE & ETHICS MONTH taken by all employees. Digitalisation workshop was conducted on November 5, 2016 for idea generation to take the first step towards digitalization. A series of TPM talk were given by internal faculty and also one of the talks was given by Mr. Rakesh Babu, CQH & TPM Secretary, ISWP on November 17, 2016. In continuation, Utthan - 30 was organized on November 14, 2016 & mailer on the topics TPM, IMS, Ethics and SA 8000 were communicated. Kaizen competition was also organized during this period. This month also witnessed Sit & Draw Competition for children at Nicco, Jubilee Park on November 20 and for Kolkata Office. Apart from this, Ethics & excellence Quiz Competition was also organized.

TCIL and Adani achieve new milestone November 22, 2016, TCIL celebrated the milestone of the purchase of more than 100,000 MT of tinplate by its key customer, M/s Adani Wilmar Limited. To make the milestone memorable for the customer Mr Tarun Daga, Managing Director, TCIL presented a memento to Mr Pranav Adani, Managing Director, Adani Wilmar Limited in the presence of a TCIL team comprised ofM/s Santosh Antony, Sujoy Sengupta and VVN Raju. Adani Wilmar Limited was represented by Mr Atul Chaturvedi, CEO and Mr Rajneesh Bansal, Associate Vice President.

Employees of The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) including, Managing Director Mr Tarun Daga participated in the Jamshedpur Run-a-thon 2016, held on November 27, 2016. More than 5000 fitness buffs of Jamshedpur took part in this event, which also attracted innumerable people from different walks of life, who watched and cheered the runners. Mr TV Narendran, Managing Director, Tata Steel India & SEA, had flagged off the run from JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Employees turned up in large numbers to support the blood donation camp jointly organised by TCIL and TLWA (Tinplate Ladies Welfare Association) on November 11, 2016. Mrs Varsha Daga, President, TLWA and Mr Raja Singh, Dy President, GTWU, took the lead in motivating the participants to donate blood voluntarily.

The Tinplate Company of India is among the leading corporate donors of safe blood in Jharkhand.

At the improvement contest, UTTHAN-30 held on November 14, 2016 a total of 13 teams consisting of 58 employees took part. A jury comprising Mr Joginder Lal, Md. Farouque and Mr Prabhat Sinha evaluated every project that was presented. The winners are as follows:

Warm send-off to superannuating employees

A warm send-off was given to superannuating employees at the Abhinandan Diwas function organised on November 9, 2016 at the Archives premises. Mr Samar Kumar Chakravarty, Mobile Equipment, Mr Suresh Singh, Machine Shop,Mr Indramoni Nayak, ETP (Oprn.), Mr Baidyanath Pandey, ETP (Oprn.), Mr Bhagat Bahadur, ETP (Oprn.),Mr Kokil Mahato, ETP (Oprn.), Mr Dhanman Singh, ETP (Oprn.), Mr Niranjan Bhowmick, ETP (Mech.Maint.), Mr Moti Lal, Pickling, Mr Trilochan Ojha, ETP (Oprn.) and Mr S Sudhakar Rao, ETP (Elect. Maint.) were felicitated by the senior management of the company.

The Domestic Management Programme, attended by spouses (Sanginee) of TCIL employees, now includes a visit to the Tinplate Archives as a regular feature of the programme after their classroom session.

The Archives, besides showcasing the history of the company, is a tribute to the generations of employees who have contributed to the success of TCIL.

At the 55th National Pharmacy Week function of Singhbhum Pharmacy Association held on November 27, 2016 Dr S K Mitra, Eye Specialist, Tinplate Hospital presented the progress in eye surgery with the use of modern technology. His insightful presentation provided the audience with a deeper understanding of the recent advances.
