INTRODUCING OUR GUEST SPEAKER THIS MONTH Cherie Hugo - Director and Dietition, My Nutrition Clinic This month, we are lucky enough to have Cherie share the latest research on the benefits of eating well as we age. In partnership with Maggie Beer, Cherie established The Lantern Project to improve the quality of life as we age through good food and nutrition. Cherie’s practice is focused on how to maintain our health and vibrancy through great food and she is currently completing her PHD with a focus on nutrition as we age. Cherie will not only share her research but will also provide some practical tips on cooking and eating well at home. I have heard Cherie speak in the past and promise that we will all benefit from her advice. I expect Cherie will be a regular presenter at The Henley over the next year so don’t miss out on the first instalment! Patrick

Once again the Henley Team BBQ proved very popular and so good to have the numbers attending notified beforehand so that Sam could order the correct amount of food for the social committee to prepare. These BBQs
are always a nice opportunity for the Henley Community

As we approach the warmer months we welcome to The Henley a Hawaiian night. Polynesian dance group ‘The Hula Hut’ will entertain residents with their beautiful culture and fun entertainment. Come dressed in your Hawaiian shirts, dresses for a prize to the best dressed.

Keep an eye out for notices displayed in the ELEVATORS and the NOTICE BOARDS on Level 2 for Functions/Events and Outings. An RSVP list will be at reception for all events, and we will appreciate your replies so that we can arrange for catering and transport resources. The Henley provides an A4 calender of the activities, events and social gatherings through the month, the overview below, provides more information. The external calender on the back of our social calender is a guide for you to see what else is on around the Gold Coast. If you are interested in going, please feel free to check with Sam on transport options available or other residents that might be interested in attending also. Please note, if there are less than 3 residents attending, unfortunately it is not viable to go ahead with the outing. Please ensure if you wish to attend any outings, you RSVP preferably at the start of the month for planning or at the latest a few days before the day to avoid disappointment
Samba has been a long time favorite for our residents, some regularly play twice a week! You have been invited and the group has advised that they are happy to teach anyone who would like to join them anytime!
