A Message from Luc Hellinckx

Head of MasterCard Academy

We all know that the better you understand your financial marketplace, the better placed you are to

operate in it. It is with this in mind that I am proud to provide you with the MasterCard Academy

catalogue for 2013.

Our seminars are specially designed to extend the skills and knowledge of your staff. In today’s

financial environment staff is more than ever one of your best assets, and the most successful

companies empower their staff to drive business growth and at the same time manage risk.

Knowledge of the core business is the key to efficient operations today, especially in terms of ‘big

picture’ understanding of how everything fits together. To this end, we have created a “101” Business

Overview category which includes a number of brand new seminars, covering key areas such as chip,

issuing, acquiring and compliance.

Business development is the key to sustained development in the future, and we have created new

programs in cutting-edge areas such as contactless proximity payments with a smart phone.

As you prepare for 2013 and look at your strategy for the coming years, I recommend these programs

to you and hope you will take advantage of them. Through them, you will gain a greater

understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead, and be far better equipped to address

them.

The Academy Faculty and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you at one of our seminars.

Does this sound familiar?

Our ‘On Demand’ seminars are the perfect solution!

Just choose the seminar(s) you need and our trainer(s) come to your premises. It could not be easier!

Onsite seminars combine multiple benefits:

Reduced costs: We use your onsite seminars facilities and give you a whole of MasterCard

expertise. You benefit from reduced costs, as there is no travel and entertainment expense.

Confidentiality: You can address subjects that you would not want to tackle in Open seminars,

particularly with regards to competitive issues.

Cross-departmental Training: Colleagues from various departments can attend the dedicated

seminars which would probably not be possible if they had to go on seminar abroad.

Just send an email to [email protected] to request any of the seminars covered in this

catalogue: we will be happy to help.

I need skilled staff, but I can’t afford

for them to be away from their desk

too long….. I have not got enough T&E

budget to send all of my staff to

a seminar abroad….

I have got to train a lot of staff

in one go - how can I do

that?!.....
