Black Canyon of the Gunnison
• This Canyon was formed because of water and rock carving out the rock that is now the canyon.
• The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is unique because of the narrow openings and sheer walls.
Katmai National Park &
Preserve• Established in 1918• Purpose of establishment was to
protect the area covered by ash from the Novarupta Volcano
• Been National Park since 1980
Yellowstone National Park
• One of the most recognized National Parks
• Has a strong documented history since inception
