A Longing FulfilledRevelation 21:1-8

1. The Beauty of Heaven (Rev. 21:1-2)

Human history began in paradise and will end in paradise.

“ON us, there is a new name. IN us, a new song. AROUND us, a new Jerusalem. UNDER us, a new earth. OVER us, a new heaven. BEFORE us, always new revelations of the never ending love of God.”

2. The Blessings in Heaven (Rev. 21:3-7)

a. God’s Presence with us (21:3)

b. God’s peace for us (21:4)

c. God’s Promises to Us (21:5-7)

We glance backward to “It is finished,” and forward to “It is done.”

What is fantastic and “too good to be true,” IS TRUE!!!!

Two things contribute to our salvation: thirst and overcoming.

There is a battle going on inside every heart. The struggle is between thirsting after God or thirsting after anything else. In other words, if we conquer all the competitors for our thirst and satisfy ourselves with Christ alone, we will meet God.

Thirst for Christ must conquer our natural thirst for this world and all it offers.
