A Letter SD68 Trustees WISHES They Could Send | ONE Dear Save Cedar Schools, You claim we’re supposed to represent constituents? Why? We like our SD68 staff. They’re hard workers, like us. We don’t have to talk to you. Be thankful we’re even writing. FYI: We didn't read your report or seven points of concern. It was too much work. We handed it to staff. They can deal with you and put you in your place. If you must know, we DO represent our constituents. You aren't them! See this map ? We live in the north end, with shiny new things. Why do you think we’re closing your schools? We don’t live there! It's as simple as that. You’re sacrificial lambs, in rural terms. And all those annoying letters, obnoxious emails and silly comments you sent during the consultation period? They went into our binder. Look how thick it is! You blather on so! We spent so much time reading your sniveling suggestions that none of us had time to respond. Yes, we read all of your 22 silly alternate plans, un-educated comments, funny suggestions and ridiculous ideas. We tried to take them seriously, but why would we use any? How many times must we tell you - know your place! We’re in charge! And stop complaining that your June 12 th consultation wasn’t in good faith. Not all of us could attend. We were scared. We knew you would be angry and behave like heathens. It’s why we brought the police. Did you really think we would answer your questions? Ha! We don’t need to know things like: “How much more will it cost to bus kids?” or “How much to re-tool a secondary school into a mega-elementary?” Didn’t we already say that the bell has rung? Go AWAY! Hugs and kisses, Your School Board

DESCRIPTION

The School Board doesn't answer our questions, they don't even read our reports. Instead, they refer it all to District staff. They have, however, cajoled us using Twitter, the media and personal blogs. Believe us when we say, we've gotten their "hidden" message and here it is: An uncensored and not-politically-correct message from "our" School Board Trustees.Note: This was written as a single letter from "our" Board, but because the Nanaimo Daily News has a 300-word limit on letters to the editor, it's been hacked up into smaller sections. To read the whole thing (as it was meant and with links and graphics) ... head to this link: http://savecedarschools.org/scs-blog.php/letter-from-sd68-trustees
