New Pedagogy & Innovation – At Master level: Applied Psychology , the traditional teaching has been

enriched by experiential exercises, film analysis, script analysis, conversation analysis and discourse analysis. The teaching is done mostly in interactive mode.

At BA(H) level: case study, news paper reporting, and international events play a dominant role in the teaching learning process. Students are encouraged to actively participate and bring their own materials for discussion.

Students are also encouraged participate in extension learning through poster presentation which are publicly displayed. Students are also motivated to use SPSS in Applied psychology and Economics as a learning tool.

The English department created at innovative format of learning by enacting The Duchess of Malfi, and Ghashiram Kotwal

The students of Political Sc had made and presented an exit poll for UP Election.

The students of Applied Psychology learn the pragmatics of there theory through innovative practicums.

Students of Applied Psychology made a Project on Counseling Psychological Treatment and Behavior Modification after their training with Vishwas an NGO at Gr. Noida.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Socially Responsible Activities –

The School of Humanities &Social Sciences under the aegis of Confluence (Society of Students of SHSS GU) held essay writing competition on 7th Nov 2016, The students were awarded first and second prizes and also provided certificates to the participants.

A rural camp was organized at a village in Dankaur to spread awareness about health and hygiene elements jointly by School of Nursing, SFC and SHSS in February 2017.

Faculty organized In house lab. visit for students from SHSS to create awareness about Hydroelectricity generating Turbine & water purifying plants in 26th April 2017.

Cash Prizes awarded to students of Applied Psychology : Shivani, Supriya, Sarbojitand Moulshree Sinha through Richmond Fellowship Trust for poster presentation in March 2017.

Students of BA(H) English presented paper on Heritage Literature in One Day National Seminar held at Amity University Noida on 7th April 2016.

The students of BA(H) English presented academic research papers in International Conference at SRM University, Ghazizbad.on 18th to 20th Nov, 2016.

BA(H) Applied Psychology students Apurva Sharma won the first prize in photography competition at GCET on SILHOUETTE.

A cultural / Academic Visit for learning and extending knowledge was made by faculty and students of SHSS (English Department) on 15th Oct 2016 at RastriyaSanskriti Mahotsav held in New Delhi.

Three students of final year Applied Psychology presented their papers in an international conference on Positive Psychology in March 2017 at Jamia Milia Islamiawhich would also be published in a book form

Dept of Political Science organized group discussions on Friday 7th and 8th slots. This is an open forum, where students of all streams participate in good number, The department has also started a blog along with the students of SHSS, where reports of discussions and views of students are placed.
