COVER STORY MONDAY 20 FEBRUARY 201702

Kazakhstan is a vast country, the ninth-largest in the world as well as the world’s largest landlocked

country, stretches from the Caspian Sea to Siberia and from the border with Russia to China.

Kazakhstan has a unique mix of deserts, steppes, savannas, wild forests, pristine lakes and rivers as well as modern cities, such as Almaty, a major commercial and cultural hub with leafy avenues, chic cafes, diverse dinning, stylish shopping centers and vibrant nightlife.

Kazakhstan is a spectacular touristic destination which may not have been discovered by many travellers yet. The Qataris should visit Kazakhstan and experience its unique beauty discovering its authentic national parks, peaceful protected areas, mountains, lakes and rivers which astounded its vis-itors in all its beautiful and spellbinding mysteries.

Kazakhstan is a nation in Cen-tral Asia known for its culture and heritage sources. The nation reflects a variety of ethnicities including

Kazakhs and Russians. Islam is the main religion followed by Christi-anity with a number of Jews and followers of other religions.

It is known as the land of 7000 lakes and rivers. It shares a 6467km border with Russia (the longest land border between two states in the world), a 2300km border with Uzbekistan, a 1460km border with China, a 980km border with Kyr-gyzstan and a 380km border with Turkmenistan. Visit the land of mountains, lakes, steppes, forests, rivers and nice people with long, old and rich culture

The land of the rivers has plenty of mysterious secrets. For centuries it has been a pathway for many tribes. As a result, the Great Silk Road came into being the main line of the Silk Route on the territory lay across the country’s south. The route represents a unique complex of historical and architectural mon-uments, and a large variety of unique tourist attractions, which was formed in the Almaty region. Convenient tourist trails for nature lovers along Lake Issyk fed by the

Issyk River reveal a picturesque val-ley with beautiful landscaping, waterfalls and rivers.

Climb to Medeu and Shymbu-lak: High-mountain complex of winter sport games “Medeu” was built on the height of 1700m above the sea level and its ice cover serves as a skate rink for amateurs and

professionals for eight months a year. Here, the Medeu dam was built to protect Almaty from mud flows. An amazing view of Trans-Ili Alatau (ZaiilskyAlatau) mountain peaks open up from the dam. From Medeu take a trip to a mountain resort Shymbulak on the height of 2510m.

Take an exciting trip to a Big Almaty Hike: If you are in the Southern capital of Kazakhstan, then you must take this trip to the Big Almaty Gorge where the river Big Almatinka flows, where there is a Big Almaty Lake with a Big Almaty Peak above, seen even from the city. And this is only one-hour drive from Almaty.

See once the miracle Kolsai Lakes: Whilst you’re in the Almaty area it would be worth taking in the scenery of the Kolsai Lakes. The scenery is not too different from the lakes of Alaska, with snow-capped mountains reflecting in the clear blue water, contrasting with the bright green vegetation.

Breathe the unique clean air of pinewood in the park “Bura-bay”: Nature has made a royal gift to Northern Kazakhstan putting a beautiful place among yellow, sun faded, endless steppes; massive trees, mountain spines, fantastic curves of the cliffs and quiet and enchanting lakes full of fish.

Do you know the ancient Place of the first Apple in the World – the City of Almaty: Almaty is the big-gest city of Kazakhstan and is located between beautiful moun-tains and plains with modern architecture. Its streets are wide and laced with fountains, gardens, and square and are characterized by abundant scenery particularly in spring and autumn. It enjoys the greatest of Soviet architecture. The Ascension Cathedral also known as Zenkov Cathedral, is a Russian Orthodox cathedral located in Pan-filov Park in Almaty, Kazakhstan, it is claimed to be the second tallest wooden building in the world, Almaty›s tourist attractions include museums, galleries, theatres, and monuments including both histor-ical and contemporary.

You can feel yourself a cosmo-naut: It is possible by taking a trip to Baikonur, the place where the first space satellite was launched and the first person, Yuriy Gagarin, flew to the moon. In the last half century, there were more than 1500 spaceships launched from the cos-modrome. It still serves as a window to the space.

MARKETPLACE MONDAY 20 FEBRUARY 201706

In light of Qatar’s 6th National Sport Day (NSD), KidzMondo Doha offered children an oppor-

tunity to cultivate their sporting values and skills through various playing activities, games and com-petitions, that spread the theme

‘health and sport’, at the recently opened Edutainment City.

Presenting a variety of activi-ties for the National Sport Day’, the Edutainment City hosted football games, rock climbing sessions, Zumba sessions and a 5 lap race – to name a few of the frequented engaging activities – along with the ongoing role playing establishments available at KidzMondo Doha.

While children could continue to ‘live the role’ on National Sport Day, the designated exercises of the day were designed to energise the

youngsters mind and body for the day, emulating sports movements and the benefits leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

Marking their first year partak-ing in the national event, KidzMondo Doha made note of dis-tributing Sports Stations across the Edutainment City.

Their presence was found near the Fire Station, Race Track, Soc-cer Court, Police Station, Supermarket and Hospital, to ensure that while the eager Kidi-zens waited in line for their next activity, the ‘edutainers’ could detail to the children the type of sports played around the world, and pro-vide them with anecdotes of that sports’ origin, history and how that sport exists locally and regionally as part of Qatar’s sport culture.

Ever wondered what are the exact dimensions of female lips that can be

called as the most attractive?According to a study, a 50

percent increase in lip size -- or in other words, the lips that made up about 10 percent of the lower third of the face was the most preferred. The faces of white women were ranked for attractiveness with varied lip surface areas created for the faces and upper to lower lip ratios manipulated.

Lips with a 53.5% increase in surface area with a one-to-two ratio of upper to lower lip that make up about 10 percent of the lower third of the face were deemed to be the most attrac-tive. “We advocate preservation of the natural ratio or achieving a 1:2 ratio in lip augmentation procedures while avoiding the overfilled upper lip look fre-quently seen among celebrities,” said Brian J F Wong, from the University of California.

Using smartphones, laptops and other technology to work from home may help

you do away with rush hour traffic, but also lead to longer working hours, higher stress and sleeping problems, according to a new UN study in 15 countries.

“This report shows that the use of modern communication tech-nologies facilitates a better overall work-life balance,” said Jon Mes-senger, co-author of the joint report by the UN International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Eurofund.

The study is based on inter-views with workers and experts in 10 European Union member states, Argentina, Brazil, India,Japan and the US. The study identified several types of employees using new

technologies to work outside the employer’s premises.

It highlights positive effects of teleworking, such as greater auton-omy on working time and better work-day organisation, and reduced commuting time resulting in a better overall work-life balance and higher productivity.

On the down side, teleworking “blurs the boundaries between work and personal life, depending on the place of work and the characteris-tics of different occupations,” Messenger said.

People teleworking have a ten-dency to work longer hours, and have higher levels of stress as a result of overlapping paid work and personal life. The analysis also shows that regular home-based tel-eworkers tend to be more likely to report sleeping problems in

general, when compared to those always work at the employer’s premises.

As telework becomes more prominent so too has the need to disconnect in order to separate paid work and personal life, with France

and Germany beginning to look at arrangements at the company level, and at existing and new legislation, such as the “right to be discon-nected” in the most recent revision of the French Labour Code, the report said.

Do you feel that your friends are getting bored while lis-tening to your stories or

personal experiences? If so, try say-ing things that are more familiar to them, suggests a research.

The study showed that although both speakers and listen-ers expected new stories -- such as ranging from exotic vacations to celebrity sightings -- to be more interesting, listeners showed more pleasure with familiar stories.

Hearing experiences one has not seen or known may leave the listener bored, confused and underwhelmed. The reason may be because the experiences shared are so complex that they are nearly impossible for an ordinary person to communicate well, the research-ers said.

“Our friends are actually a whole lot happier when we tell them what they already know because at least they understand what we’re talking about,” said Daniel T. Gilbert, psychological sci-entist at Harvard University.

“We worry too much about thrilling our listeners and not enough about confusing them,” Gil-bert added. For the study, published in Psychological Science, the team conducted a series of experiments.

In one of their experiments, the researchers assigned participants to groups of three, with one per-son acting as the speaker and the other two acting as listeners.

Speakers watched a video -- either a TED talk or an interview

with the owner of a specialty soda shop -- and then tried to describe it to the listeners. While some lis-teners had seen the video the speaker was describing, others had not. The results showed that the lis-teners responded much more positively when they had seen the video. When listeners had already seen the video that the speaker was describing, they were able to “fill in the gaps” in the speaker’s story, which made the story more enjoy-able to hear, the researchers noted.

FOODMONDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2017 09

Dorie Greenspan The Washington Post

Although the bread comes in as many varieties as there are cheeses, the one I make

most often uses those not-at-all French classics, cheddar and Gouda, as well as meat, walnuts, very untraditional apple and, for a sur-prise, cumin.

I like to pack as much texture into the bread as I can, so I make the batter with grated cheddar and small chunks of Gouda; the ched-dar melts into the bread completely, and the Gouda half-melts and half keeps its form.

As for the cumin, it’s a new addition chez me, one I adopted after having Gouda that was made with cumin seed.

The bread is the kind of thing a resourceful French cook would make with whatever cheese was left over at the end of the week. This means that although you should respect the proportions of the

recipe, you can go your own way with the cheese. Pick one you can grate for the batter, then choose whatever you’d like for the chunky add-in.

When you’re combining the wet and dry ingredients, take it easy. There’s no need to get a perfect blend, because you’ll soon be stir-ring in the cheese cubes and their mates. With quick breads, under-mixing beats overmixing.

Cheese Apéro Quick Bread8 to 12 servingsLike the loaves baked in French

homes, this bread is just right for serving at the cocktail hour, or apéro, cut into finger-size batons that are just right for nibbling. Use the cheese called for here or what-ever you have on hand.

You’ll need an 8 1/2 -by-4 1/2 -by-2 1/2 -inch loaf pan.

MAKE AHEAD: Wrapped well, the bread can be kept overnight at room temperature; it can be frozen for up to 2 months.

From cookbook author Dorie Greenspan.

IngredientsUnsalted butter, for greasing the

pan1 3/4 cups flour1 tablespoon baking powder1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon ground

cumin (may substitute cumin seed or a combination of ground and seeds)

3 large eggs, at room temperature

1 teaspoon fine sea salt1/3 cup whole milk, at room

temperature1/3 cup grapeseed, canola or

olive oil4 ounces grated extra-sharp

cheddar cheese (1 cup)3 ounces bite-size cubes Gouda

cheese (3/4 cup)1/3 cup toasted walnuts,

coarsely chopped (See NOTE)4 to 6 slices meat, crisp-cooked,

cooled and chopped1 medium apple, peeled, cored

and cut into bite-size pieces

StepsPreheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Generously grease the loaf pan with butter. Whisk together the flour, baking powder and cumin (to taste) in a mixing bowl.

Use a whisk to beat the eggs and salt in a separate bowl for 1 minute. Pour in the milk and oil, whisking until blended. Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients and whisk gently, just to moisten the flour - there’s no need to be thorough. Switch to a spatula and stir in the cheeses, toasted walnuts, meat and apple to form a thick, spongy bat-ter. Scrape it into the pan, taking care to push it into the corners. Do the best you can to even the top, and don’t fret when it’s lumpy.

Bake (middle rack) for 45 to 55 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and a tester inserted deep into the center comes out dry. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let it rest for 5 minutes. If needed, run a table knife around the edges of the bread before turning it out (right side up) and leaving it to come to room temperature.

To serve as a nibble with drinks, cut into thick slices, then into fin-gers or bite-size pieces.

NOTE: Toast the nuts in a dry medium skillet over medium-low heat for several minutes or just until fragrant and lightly browned, shak-ing the pan as needed to prevent scorching. Cool completely before using.

Just as most therapies have a dose-response relationship whereby benefits diminish at high doses and the risk of adverse events increases,

high level of intense exercise may also be bad for the heart, suggests a study.

The researchers looked into the relationship between exercise and heart problems and found that there is a growing evidence that high levels of intense exercise may be cardiotoxic and pro-mote permanent structural changes in the heart. There is already fairly compelling evidence sup-porting the association between long-term sports practice and increased prevalence of atrial fibril-lation -- abnormal heart rhythm characterised by rapid and irregular beating.

“Much of the discussion regarding the rela-tive risks and benefits of long-term endurance sports training is hijacked by definitive media-grabbing statements, which has fuelled an

environment in which one may be criticized for even questioning the benefits of exercise,” explained study author Andre La Gerche from the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, Mel-bourne, Australia. “This paper discusses the often questionable, incomplete, and controversial sci-ence behind the emerging concern that high levels of intense exercise may be associated with some adverse health effects,” La Gerche noted.

“The answers regarding the healthfulness of ‘extreme’ exercise are not complete and there are valid questions being raised,” La Gerche said.

“Given that this is a concern that affects such a large proportion of society, it is something that deserves investment. The lack of large prospec-tive studies of persons engaged in high-volume and high-intensity exercise represents the big-gest deficiency in the literature to date, and, although such work presents a logistical and financial challenge, many questions will remain controversies until such data emege.”

Too much exercise may be bad for your heart

An overweight youth in his early 20s is three times more at risk of

developing cancer of either the oesophagus (food pipe) or upper stomach in adulthood, researchers have warned.

The findings showed that those who are overweight at the age of 20 are nearly 60-80 per cent more likely to develop these cancers in later life, compared to those who maintained a healthy weight throughout life. Those who gained more than 20kg dur-ing adulthood were also twice as likely to develop oesopha-geal cancer compared to people who had little weight change.

Carrying excess weight can trigger long-term reflux problems and heartburn that can lead to cancer.

It can also change the lev-els of sex hormones, such as oestrogen and testosterone,

cause levels of insulin to rise, and lead to inflammation -- all of which are factors associated with increased cancer risk, the researchers said.

“The study highlights how weight gain over the course of our lives can increase the risk of developing these two can-cer types, both of which have extremely poor survival rate,”

said lead author Jessica Pet-rick from the National Cancer Institute in Maryland, US. Small steps like taking the stairs more often, keeping an eye on the quantity of food consumed and switching to sugar-free drinks are simple things we all can do to keep a healthy weight, the research-ers suggested.

Excess weight in youth can cause stomach cancer later Regular intake of Vitamin D supplements

may help protect against cold and flu, as well as tackle high levels of the vitamin’s

deficiency in countries like India, a study has said. The ‘sunshine vitamin’ as it known, not just improves bone and muscle health but also protects against respiratory infections by boost-ing levels of antimicrobial peptides -- natural antibiotic-like substances -- in the lungs. “Most people understand that Vitamin D is critical for bone and muscle health. Our analysis has found that it helps the body fight acute respiratory infection,...,” said Carlos Camargo from the Mas-sachusetts General Hospital (MGH).

The findings showed that daily or weekly supplementation halved the risk of acute res-piratory infection in people with most significant Vitamin D deficiency -- below 25 nanomoles per litre (nmol/L). Administering occasional high doses of Vitamin D did not produce significant benefits. People with higher baseline Vitamin D levels also benefited, although the effect was more modest (10 per cent risk reduction), the researchers noted, in the paper published in the journal BMJ. “Our study strengthens the case for introducing food fortification to improve Vitamin D levels in countries where profound vitamin D deficiency is common,” added lead researcher Adrian Martineau Professor at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).

Malayalam actor Prithvi-raj says what the popular Malayalam

film actress has gone though is proof of the state of security of women in Kerala. As a man of the society, he says he hangs his head in shame.

On Friday, the actress was kidnapped and allegedly assaulted while on her way from Thrissur to Cochin. Her driver, suspected of involvement in the incident, has already been taken into custody. Prithviraj wrote: “Woke up to the horrifying news that has by now

been reported, misreported and sensationalised.”

Admitting that he was

disturbed by the news, he refrained from commenting because “I knew whatever I or anyone among our fraternity say, will only be fodder to click bites and TRP ongering.

By now, all that can be said about the security of women in our matriarchal/matrilineal God’s own country has already been said.”“As a man who has to share the responsibility of a society that bears this shame, I hang my head,” he said, request-ing everyone to respect the guts of the actress.

A cluster of films based on the biodiversity-rich Nagaland, showcased at the seventh

National Science Film Festival, have kick-up a debate on hunting prac-tices and conservation in northeast India’s tribal communities.

Revolving around the Yimchun-ger tribe of Nagaland in the state’s remote Fakim village, the 30-minute film “Point and Shoot” clinched three awards at the fest that concluded on Saturday.

“It explores the relationship of the hunting community with ani-mals and birds found in the forests around Fakim. My film documents

the pros and cons of hunting ver-sus conservation. It is debate for you to figure out what you would choose,” director Harsimran Kaur Anand said. Set in the same village, Savyasachi Anju Prabir’s “Miilelam Miiyoh” captures a “perceptive account of the changes in the tribe’s relationship with nature”. The film explores the “transition of an entire village from one that slaughtered hundreds and thousands of the winged visitors to their most fer-vent preservationist”. According to DST officials, the aim is to help India make a mark in the global science film festival scenario.

Popular singer Arijit Singh feels blessed to have good work in the industry. “I am very fortunate that

I get good songs. Above all, my songs are being well accepted. I would like to give all the credit to the music directors and the producers,” he said at the Mirchi Music Awards 2017 here yesterday. “I am try-ing to deliver the best I can and thankfully receiving the result. People aren’t tough but the journey isn’t the smooth one for sure and I faced ups and down too,” added Arijit, who had participated in the reality singing show “Fame Gurukul”.

Actor Shia LaBeouf has planned to relaunch his anti-US President Donald Trump art project, He Will Not Divide Us, about a

week after the project was shut down by the Museum of the Moving Image here.

The 30-year-old, alongside collaborators Rönkkö and Turner, spoke out against the museum in a statement on TheCampaignBook.com, revealing that the project will continue as of Saturday, relocating to the El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico, reports etonline.com.

“From the outset, the museum failed to address our concerns about the misleading framing of our piece as a political rally, rather than as a par-ticipatory performance artwork resisting the normalisation of division,” read the statement by LaBeouf, Rönkkö and Turner.

“Nonetheless, there had been no incidents of physical violence at the site of our project that

we are aware of, nor that we had been informed of at any stage by the museum.”

The Museum of the Moving Image announced its decision to terminate the project last week

after experiencing disruptive protests since its opening. “The installation created a serious and ongoing public safety hazard for the Museum, its visitors, staff, local residents, and businesses,” the Museum of Moving Image said in statement.

“The installation had become a flashpoint for violence and was disrupted from its original intent.”

“While the installation began constructively, it deteriorated markedly after one of the artists was arrested on the site of the installation and ultimately necessitated this action,” the state-ment read, refering to LaBeouf’s January 25 arrest after allegedly attacking a 25-year-old man at a protest.

“Over the course of the installation, there have been dozens of threats of violence and numer-ous arrests, such that police felt compelled to be stationed outside the installation 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” the statement read.

Singer Aaron Carter says he “didn’t get beat up” after he was attacked by a fellow

musician on stage over an allegedly racial comment.

The former child star was performing at the Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois, on Friday when a member of Ill State, the group who preceded Carter’s set, jumped onstage and attacked him over an allegedly racial remark, reports tmz.com.

“I didn’t get beat up. I got a hit and pushed when I wasn’t look-ing and they ran out the club and I stood on the speakers waiting for them,” the 29-year-old tweeted on Saturday, reports eonline.com.

“Maybe he should’ve not been a fake security guard causing liability to the venue and antagonising me and my fans mid show...”

“This dude sized me up after I said he had to go and said bye

Felipe, like bye Felicia the male version. Friday? He needed to go,” Carter added. He then defended himself against accu-sations of racism, tweeting:

“News flash my band consists of three amazing black funk musi-cians and an Italian guitar player from Italy... They raised me and have been playing with me doing shows for 16 years.” According to tmz.com, which obtained video footage of the incident that was later shared to YouTube by Ill State, Carter requested a member of the

band be removed from the venue after he “was goofing, grabbing people’s cellphones and shooting video as Aaron tried to perform”. As the indi-vidual was being escorted out, Carter reportedly yelled, “Bye, Felipe,” his own version of the slang term, “Bye, Felicia”.

The member of Ill State then attacked Carter onstage, in the process allegedly dam-aging a computer and speaker.

Tmz.com reports Carter was left “bloody” and moved to a nearby hospital. He has since spoken out against Saturday’s events, claiming he meant no disrespect and that authorities are investigating the attack. Carter also shared a selfie with his dogs in bed that he cap-tioned: “Chilling with my boys before I finally get to bed... hos-pitals s**k. And so do bullies. My face is still pretty though and untouched.”

Chance the Rapper is reportedly turn-ing down some very generous record label offers after he achieved a historic

win at the 2017 Grammy Awards. He has turned down offers worth up to

$10m, after he beat Drake and Kanye West to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, reports Independent.co.uk. “Every label is still trying to get him. He’s making too much on his own... He was turning down $5m advances before, and now it’s like $10m,” said a source. Chance the Rapper explained that he made his money from “touring and selling merchandise... and I honestly believe if you put effort into something and you exe-cute properly, you don’t necessarily have to go through the traditional ways”.

A team of scientists has developed small, soft biological robots -- bio-bots -- that can walk and swim on their

own or when triggered by electri-cal or light signals.

These tiny muscle-powered robots were first 3-D printed and then seeded with muscle cells. The cells self-organised to form func-tional tissues that made the bio-bots move.

“These machines are now viewed as partially living, with the ability to form, the ability to age and the ability to heal if there’s an injury,” Taher Saif, a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, said in a statement.

“Now that we have got them working, we are beginning to look back and try to understand how the cells organise themselves and what language they use to communicate. This is the developmental biology of living machines,” Saif added.

The group developed multiple designs to make bio-bots walk in certain directions and to control their motion with light or electrical currents. “As engineers, we usually build with materials like wood, steel or silicon. Our focus here is to for-ward-engineer biological or cell-based systems,” added Rashid Bashir, head of the bioengineering department at the University of Illi-nois. “The design is inspired by the muscle-tendon-bone complex found in nature. There’s a skeleton or backbone, but made out of soft

polymers similar to the ones used in contact lenses, so it can bend instead of needing joints like the body does,” Bashir noted.

Saif said that the objective was

not to make a walker and a swim-mer, but to lay the scientific foundation so they have principles for building biological machines in the future.

Researchers have developed an app that could help peo-ple speak the language of

eyes -- literally. The smartphone app that

researchers working with Micro-soft have developed can interpret eye gestures in real time, decode these gestures into predicted utterances, and facilitate communication.

Called GazeSpeak, the app would help people with amyo-trophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a condition resulting in individu-als gradually losing their strength and the ability to speak, eat or move.

As part of the Enable team at Microsoft Research, the scientists developed GazeSpeak to help people with ALS who can move their eyes but cannot speak.

ALS also causes other motor impairments that affect volun-tary muscle movement. According to the researchers, cur-rent eye-tracking input systems for people with ALS or other m o t o r i m p a i r m e n t s

are expensive, not robust under sunlight, and require frequent re-calibration and substantial, relatively immobile setups.

Eye-gaze transfer (e-tran) boards, a low-tech alternative, are challenging to master and offer slow communication rates.

“To mitigate the drawbacks of these two status quo approaches, we created GazeSpeak, an eye gesture communication system that runs on a smartphone, and is designed to be low-cost, robust, portable, and easy-to-learn, with a higher communication band-width than an e-tran board,” the researchers wrote in the abstract

of a paper scheduled to be pre-sented in May at the Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems in Colorado, US.

“GazeSpeak can interpret eye gestures in real time, decode these gestures into predicted utterances, and facilitate com-munication, with different user interfaces for speakers and inter-preters,” the researchers said. GazeSpeak uses artificial intel-ligence to convert eye movements into speech, and runs on the listener’s device so that he/she can understand what is being said in real time, New Scientist reported.

Researchers have iden-tified a genetic ‘switch’ that may help prevent

or delay the symptoms of Par-kinson’s disease. The study showed that a gene called ATF4 plays a key role in Par-kinson’s disease, acting as a

‘switch’ for genes that control mitochondrial metabolism for neuron health.

When the expression of ATF4 is reduced in flies, expression of these mito-chondrial genes drops.

This drop results in dra-matic locomotor defects, decreased lifespan, and dys-functional mitochondria in the brain. “Interestingly, when we overexpressed these mitochondrial genes in fly models of Parkinson’s, mito-chondrial function was re-established, and neuron loss was avoided,” said Miguel Martins from the Uni-versity of Leicester.
