From the Banner Panel - Red (A):• Fussy cut (1) 21 ½” x 41” WOF panel.

From the Folio - Black (B), cut:• (6) 1 ¾” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (4) 1 ¾” x 55 ½” strips.• (4) 1 ½” x 24 ½ WOF strips. • (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (16) 1 ½” x 10 ½” strips.• (7) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.

From the Plaid - Red (C), cut:• (2) 3” x 25 ½” WOF strips.• (2) 2 ½” x 41” WOF strips.• (3) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (12) 1 ½” x 10 ½” strips.• (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (12) 1 ½” x 11” strips.

From the Glass Ornaments - Cream (D), cut:• (1) 8” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 8” squares.• (2) 4” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (8) 4” x 10 ½” strips.

From the Blocks - Red (E):• Fussy cut (6) 9” x 10 ½” panel blocks.

From the Pup Scenic - Cream (F), fussy cut:• (6) 4” x 6 ½” strips, each centered on a scene.

From the Pup Treats - Black (G), cut:• (2) 4 ¼” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (16) 4 ¼” squares.• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 3 ½” x 4” strips.

From the Green Tonal - (H), cut:• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 55 ½” strips.• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 52 ½” strips.

From the Border Strips - Black (I), cut:• (2) 8” x 58 ½” Length of Fabric (LOF) strips.• (2) 8” x 52 ½” LOF strips.

From the Stack of Puppies - Cream (Backing), cut:• (2) 81” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 75” x 81” back.

Block Assembly1. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 41” Fabric C strip to each side of the 21 ½” x 41” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 3” x 25 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 44 ½” to make (1) Unit 1 rectangle (Fig. 1).

2. Sew together (3) 6 ½” x 4” Fabric F strips and (2) 3 ½” x 4” Fabric G strips, alternating them. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 24 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the new strip lengthwise to make (1) Unit 2 strip (Fig. 2). Repeat to make a second Unit 2 strip.

3. Sew (1) Unit 2 strip to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 1 rectangle to make the Center Block (Fig. 3).

The arrows in Figure 2, 3 and the Quilt Layout denote fabric print direction. Pay attention to the orientation of the fabrics and units.

Quilt Top Assembly(Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)10. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 55 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Center Block.

11. Sew (1) Block Two rectangle to each side of the Center Block.

12. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 55 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Center Block.

13. Sew (1) 2” x 55 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 52 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

Pay attention to the fabric direction when adding the Fabric I borders.14. Sew (1) 8” x 58 ½” Fabric I strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) Block Three square to each end of (1) 8” x 52 ½” Fabric I strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

15. Layer and quilt as desired.

16. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

17. Bind as desired.

4. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of (1) 9” x 10 ½” Fabric E strip. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 11” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric E strip. Trim the block to measure 10 ½” x 11 ½” to make (1) Unit 3 rectangle (Fig. 4). Repeat to make (6) Unit 3 rectangles total.

5. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the (1) 4” x 10 ½” Fabric D strip lengthwise to make (1) Unit 4 strip (Fig. 5). Repeat to make (8) Unit 4 strips total.

6. Sew (4) Unit 4 strips and (3) Unit 3 rectangles together, alternating them, to make (1) Block Two rectangle (Fig. 6). Repeat to make a second Block Two rectangle.

8. Follow Figure 9 for the seam direction to add a 4 ¼” Fabric G square to each of the remaining corners of the 8” Fabric D square to make (1) Block Three square (Fig. 10).

7. Place (1) 4 ¼” Fabric G square on the top left corner of (1) 8” Fabric D square, right sides together (Fig. 7). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 7). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 8). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam.

9. Repeat Steps 7-8 to make (4) Block Three squares total.
