Course Contents: ‘Quest for Best: GESE Intermediate grades 7, 8 & 9’

The overall aim of this 15-hour online course is to help teachers fully understand the format, the procedure and the language requirements of Trinity College London GESE Intermediate, grades 7, 8 and 9. (1-2 hours) Module 1. Introduction The aim of this introductory module is to help participants to get to know the platform and the other participants (Approx. 1 hour) Reading resource: Welcome; finding one’s way around the platform; getting to know the platform’s tools and resources. Reading resource: Forum rules and ‘Netiquette’. Forum: Welcome forum Module 2. The Interactive Phase The aims of this module is to enable the participant to have a clear understanding of the 'Interactive' phase of GESE Intermediate B2 (CEFR)(2-3 hours) Teacher's Guide for GESE Intermediate Reflecting on the 'Interactive' phase Sample Interactive Prompts for the Intermediate stage Preparing the Interactive Task Forum Task: Using language prompts & creating a 'backstory' for the 'interactive' phase (8-9) Module 3. GESE 7 The aims of this module is to encourage the participant to reflect on the 'Interactive' Phase and complete a task at grade 7 level.(2-3 hours) Sample video (part 1). Reflecting on the Interactive Phase at grade 7 (part 2) Forum Task: Introducing the 'Interactive Task' (grade 7) Forum Task: Responding to and reflecting on sample 'interactive task' oral prompts at Grade 7 Module 4. GESE 8 The aims of this module is to encourage the participant to reflect on the 'Topic' Phase and complete tasks at grade 8 level(2-3 hours) How to create a Mind Map Mind Map template for grades 7-9 Question cards for Developing a Topic at grade 8 Lesson: Practising and Developing the Topic at Grade 8 Forum Discussion: Talking about the 'Topic' at grade 8 Module 5. GESE 9 The aims of this module is to encourage the participant to reflect on the 'Conversation' Phase and complete tasks at grade 9 level(2-3 hours) 'Question cards' for preparing the Conversation at grade 9 Lesson: Preparing the Conversation task for grade 9 Forum Task: Reflecting on your learners' performance for the Conversation Phase (grade 9) Module 6. Communicative Skills The aims of this module is to encourage the participant to reflect on 'Communicative Skills' at B2 (CEFR)(2-3 hours) Synopsis of Communicative Skills needed for GESE Intermediate (grades 7-9) GESE Performance Descriptors Communicative Skills Forum Assessment and Rationale of candidates at GESE Intermediate

Module 1.
