Hebrews 10:26-39Hebrews 10:26-39
All Scripture is given by inspiration of
God…..The law of the Lord is perfect…The testimony of the Lord is sure…The statutes of the Lord are right…
2 Tim 3:16; Ps 19:7-82 Tim 3:16; Ps 19:7-8
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their
trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be
found a liar.
Proverbs 30:5-6Proverbs 30:5-6
If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and
if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life…

Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Holy Scriptures and plain reason

Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Holy Scriptures and plain reason-for I can believe neither pope nor councils alone, as it is clear that they have erred repeatedly and contradicted themselves

Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Holy Scriptures and plain reason-for I can believe neither pope nor councils alone, as it is clear that they have erred repeatedly and contradicted themselves - I consider myself convicted by the testimony of Holy Scripture, which is my basis; my conscience is captive to the Word of God.

Thus I cannot and will not recant, because acting against one's conscience is neither safe nor sound. Here I stand; I can do no other. God help me. Amen.

CANON I - "If anyone shall deny that the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore entire Christ, are truly, really, and substantially contained in the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist; and shall say that He is only in it as a sign, or in a figure - let him be accursed!"
"If anyone shall say, that in the Mass there is not offered to God a true and proper sacrifice … let him be anathema."
"If anyone shall say that the sacrifice of the Mass is only of praise and thanksgiving, or a bare commemoration of the sacrifice performed on the cross, but not propitiatory; or that it is of benefit only to the person who takes it, and ought not to be offered for the living and the dead fro sins, punishments, satisfactions, and other necessities, let him be accursed."
