Winter Lawns ~ The annual aeration/thatching/winter rye seeding will take place in the next few weeks.

Some preliminary scalping has already began. We've requested for the winter rye overlay to be robust. Once seed-lings germinate, we may request an additional application of winter rye depending on how well the winter lawns take root. We are also requesting a booster in the spring of more Bermuda grass once the cool temps pass. We're aware of the challenges of many lawns--especially those with heavily-shaded areas and surface-level tree roots. We're aiming to restore the lushness that we've come to expect and hope to have some solutions to handle a 30-year old plus property. Each owner should double check their irrigation system to make sure it is in working or-der. If you have questions, you should contact the landscaping people (Brightview Landscaping - 602.376.8773 for repairs or replacement prior to planting winter rye since time is of the essence once the winter rye is planted. All irrigation boxes should remain unlocked for readjustment for winter rye.

Mail Box Ramada ~ We are waiting for a few design details for a planned ramada over the mailboxes. De-

sign elements include ample shading, lighting, trash barrel, and a spot to place community notices. Once the rama-da is installed, we can move forward with refurbishing the mailboxes themselves. Years of sun-fade and tree sap have taken their toll--we hope to clean them up once the ramada is installed.
