A Community Partnership to Celebrate the Cultures and Heritage of Asian Pacific Americans in Riverside

Occupying the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Rabbit symbolizes such character traits as creativity, compassion, and sensitivity. Rabbits are friendly, outgoing and prefer the company of others. Rabbits believe strongly in friends and family.

January 29, 2011 kicks-off the Asian Pacific Lunar New Year’s Festival and Parade bringing together several thousand people of diverse cultural communities in Riverside and the Inland Empire.

Commemorating Asian Pacific American contributions to Riverside’s history, from building the railroads and working the citrus groves to contributing to the international education through Riverside’s Sister Cities around the world via the International Relations Council (IRC) relationships .

2011 Year of the Rabbit

Held in Downtown Riverside, from 10 am to

6 pm, covering 2 square blocks of Mission

Inn Avenue and Lemon Street next to the

world-renowned Mission Inn Hotel and Spa

and in front of the Taiwan Pavilion.

Drawing patrons, vendors, sponsors and

community members from all over

Southern California to our Festival of Food,

Market, Parade, Performances, Fashion,

Music, and the Visual Arts.

Closing the evening with the sites and

sounds of fireworks, scaring off the said

evil spirits and welcoming the Lunar New

Year filled with much Luck and Prosperity.
