Making A Difference In Education
O Association for Educational Communications and Technology is a national and international professional association(AECT, 2011).
O Arkansas Association of Instructional Media is one of the state affiliates of AECT(AAIM, n.d).
O Both organizations are dedicated to the improvement of education through the use of technology(AAIM, n.d).
A Look Back At AECT in the 20th Century
O Established in 1923 as the National Education Association’s Department of Visual Instruction.
O The association was first created by a small group of educators who were dedicated to helping people find a better way to learn.
O The name AECT was adopted in the major reconstruction in 1969-1970.
O The association’s history in the 20th Century can be broken into six periods.
