Structura  UK  has  been  recognised  by  the  following  companies  to  be  highly  competent  in  the  use  of  their  products:      Schuco         NSG  Pilkington  Reynaers   Guardian  Glass  Industries    Technal   Kalwall  Hueck   Comar  Geze

Dorma

In  June  2013  Structura  UK  took  over  the  Kalwall  distributorship  for  England,  Wales  and  Northern  Ireland  from  Stoakes  Systems.  As  part  of  the  arrangement,  key  Stoakes  personnel  have  transferred  to  Structura  UK.

Kalwall   is   a   diffuse   light-‐transmitting   construction   system   that   is   manufactured   in   the   US   by   Kalwall  Corporation.  The  primary  component   is  a   translucent   structural   composite   sandwich  panel   formed  by  permanently   bonding   fibreglass   sheets   to   a   grid   core   constructed   of   interlocked   thermally-‐broken  aluminium  I-‐beams.

The  panels  are  factory  prefabricated  to  a  size  and  configuration  specified  for  each  project.  Structura  UK  managing  director  Manny  Patel  said:  “Adding  Kalwall  products  to  our  offering  means  that  we  can  give  architects,   specifiers   and   project   managers   wider   choice   of   ways   to   bring   light   into   commercial   and  leisure   buildings.   It   perfectly   complements   our   existing   range   of   structural   and   architectural   glazing  products  from  market-‐-‐-‐leaders  such  as  Schuco,  NSG  Pilkington,  Reynaers  and  Hueck.”

1.3 Estimating  Our  estimating  department  uses   the   latest  bespoke  estimating,  optimisation  and  calculation   software  packages.   From   the   information   derived   from   our   bespoke   software,   we   calculate   quotations   using  spreadsheets  that  include  comparable  data  from  similar  contracts  previously  completed  so  that  we  can  ensure  that  the  price  quoted  is  accurate  and  competitive.    We  constantly  analyse  past  performance  by  specific  types  of  contract  so  that  we  continue  to   improve  efficiency  and  competitive  edge.  We  use  an  accounts  package   that  allows  our  estimating  and   finance  departments  to  analyse  performance  against  budget.    This  level  of  information  enables  us  to  offer  clients  a  ‘partnering’  or  ‘framework’  agreement  approach,  with  rates  agreed  in  advance,  in  return  for  a  commitment  from  clients  for  future  work.    Tender   submissions   are   prepared   in   a   clear   and   concise   manner,   paying   great   attention   to   our  responsibilities  as  a  specialist  contractor.

1.4 Health  and  Safety  As   a   specialist   glazing   contractor,   Health   and   safety   are   of   paramount   importance   for   every   project.  Health  and  safety  are  taken  into  consideration  from  the  earliest  planning  stages  of  a  project,  through  to  safety  on  site  and  the  requirements  for  compliance  with  current  Construction  Design  and  Management  (CDM)  Regulations.  We  ensure  that  all  of  our  staff  and  sub-‐contractors  are  aware  of  the  project  Health  &  Safety  Plan,  including  all  relevant  Risk  Analysis  Management  Systems  (RAMS)  and  conform  to  these.      Structura  UK  is  a  member  of  Achilles,  the  Constructor’s  Health  &  Safety  Scheme  CHAS,  the  Construction  Health   &   Safety   Group   (CHSG)   and   holds   OHSAS   18001   Health   and   Safety   Management.   Please   see  Appendix  A  for  copies  of  current  membership  certifications.    HEALTH  &  SAFETY  POLICY  STATEMENT

7.2 Selected  Testimonials

National  Archives,  Kew

“Structura  UK  was  retained  as  a  specialist  contractor  by  ETDE  FM  to  carry  out  a  complex  re-‐glazing  and   refurbishment   contract   at   The   National   Archives.   The   building   was   in   full   occupation  throughout   the   works   and   it   was   critical   that   the   daily   operations   of   the   building   remained  unimpeded.   Structura   UK’s   professional   approach   to   all   aspects   of   the   project   ensured   that   the  works   where   carried   out   on   time   and   on   budget.   They   were   responsible   for   all   aspects   of   the  project,   including   the   scaffolding   and   temporary   works   elements,   replacement   of   2,100m²   of  existing  double  glazed  units  and  the  refurbishment  of   the  existing  glazing  system,  replacement  of  the  existing  smoke  vent  and  associated  electrical  works.  Over  40,000  man  hours  were  expended  on  the  project  during  the  12-‐month  on-‐site  period  without  any  major  incidents  or  accidents.  We  would  not  hesitate  to  use  Structura  UK  again.”

Shahram  Safari,  Senior  Project  Manager,  ETDE  FM

Evelina  Hospital,  St.  Thomas’  &  Guys  Hospital  Trust,  London

“We   selected   Structura  UK   to   complete   the   glazing   replacement   at   Evelina  Children’s  Hospital   as  they  offered  an   innovative   solution   to  what  was  an  extremely   challenging  project   in   the  heart  of  London.

This  was  an  award  winning,  extremely  busy  Children’s  Hospital,  the  scale  and  risk  involved  were  not  to   be   underestimated.    Structura   UK’s   approach   was   best   described   as   ‘outstanding,’   completed  safely,  on  time,  and  to  budget.  Structura  will  be  our  first  choice  selection  for  future  projects.”

Sean  Quinn,  Contracts  Director,  MJ  Gleeson

Central  House,  Harrogate

"Structura   was   principal   contractor   for   the   refurbishment   and   re-‐modelling   of   the   curtain   wall  installation  at  Central  House,  Harrogate,   a  200,000sf  multi   let  office  building  on   three   floors   that  was  originally  built  in  1979  as  head  office  for  the  CEGB.  The  works  were  undertaken  over  a  40  week  period  whilst  the  building  remained  in  full  occupation  throughout.  We  were  very  pleased  with  the  way  the  project  ran  and  Structura  ensured  that  those  using  the  building  had  appropriate  temporary  access  during  the  project.  I  would  not  hesitate  to  recommend  Structura  to  manage  and  deliver  this  type  of  project."

Steve  Throp,  Building  Consultancy  Director,  Savills

Athanaeum  Hotel,  London

“I  worked  with  Structura  UK  as  the  principal  contractor  for  the  refurbishment  and  re-‐modelling  of  the   new   windows,   doors   and   balustrading   on   the   Athenaeum   Hotel,   Piccadilly.   The   works   were  undertaken  over  a  26  week  period  and  required  careful  and  concurrent  working  with  the   internal  refurbishment   contractor.   It   was   difficult   at   times,   particularly   at   the   start,   though   without   the  pragmatism,   proactive   and   personal   approach   of   David   Rickman   and  Manny   Patel   it   could   have  been  far  more  challenging.  The  final  product  is  something  to  be  proud  of  and  I  would  not  hesitate  to  recommend  Structura  to  manage  and  deliver  this  type  of  project."

Structura  UK  demonstrates  commitment  to  safety,  quality  and  reducing  its  impact  on  the  environment  with  triple  ISO  certifications

Structura  UK  has  become  one  of   the   first   curtain  wall  engineering   firms   to  achieve   three  key   ISO  standards.  The  company  has  this  week  been  awarded  OHSAS  18001  Health  and  Safety  Management  and   ISO   14001   Environmental   Management   certification,   in   addition   to   the   ISO   9001   Quality  Management   certification   which   it   has   held   since   1995.   Achieving   these   stringent   certifications  makes   Structura   UK   one   of   the   first   curtainwall   engineering   firms   to   actively   use   an   integrated  management   system  which   ensures   internationally-‐recognised   best   practice   in   relation   to   quality  management,  health  and  safety  and  the  business’  impact  on  the  environment.      As  Structura  UK  MD  Manny  Patel  explained,  “As  a  leader  in  the  field  of  glass  curtain  walling  and  rain  shields,   we   felt   it   was   important   to   demonstrate   to   our   staff   and   our   customers   how   important  quality,   safety   and   our   impact   on   the   environment   are   to   us.  When   you   are   working  with   large  panels  of  glass,  often  hundreds  of  feet  in  the  air,  these  factors  are  critical  and  it  is  important  for  us  to  have  clear  risk  assessments  and  safety  procedures  to  internationally-‐recognised  standards.”    The   triple   standard   is   designed   to   enable   organisations   with   complex   or   high-‐risk   processes  undertaken  at  different  sites   to  use  a   framework  that  minimises  risk  and   improves  standards  and  performance,  whilst  making  a  minimal  impact  on  the  environment.    Finance  Director,  Robert  Sanders,  continued,  “Historically,  there  have  been  multiple  standards  used  to  assess  occupational  health  &  safety  in  particular,  and  organisations  had  to  choose  the  standard  which  was  the  best  fit  for  their  business.  The  new  OHSAS  18001  gives  organizations  like  ours  which  are  committed  to  minimising  risk  and  optimising  efficiency  a  clear  set  of  standards  to  work  to,  so  our  customers  can  clearly  see  the  operational  and  financial  benefits  of  using  a  contractor  with  this  level  of  accreditation  across  the  board”.  -‐  -‐  Ends  -‐  -‐

Structura  UK    Updated  8  Jan  2018   20

June  2013

Structura   UK   taken   over   the   Kalwall   distributorship   for   England,   Wales   and  Northern  Ireland  from  Stoakes  Systems.

It   perfectly   complements   our  existing   range  of   structural   and  architectural   glazing  products   from  market-‐-‐-‐leaders  such  as  Schuco,  NSG  Pilkington,  Reynaers  and  Hueck.

“We   have  worked  with   Stoakes   Systems   for  many   years   and   are   fully   committed   to   offering   the  same  level  of  professional  service”
