Martin and his best friend weren’t the same skin color and they couldn’t go to school together.

But Martin became student body president of his class.

When Martin went to high school he was popular and hung out with girls.

Martin got accepted to a lot of colleges Martin went to Crozer in Pennsylvania

Martin married Coretta Scott in 1953 They had four kids Yolanda, Martin

Luther King III, Dexter Scott, and Bernice.

Dr. King talked about equality, and people should be treated equal.

Some people didn’t agree with Martin and they put him in jail.

When Martin was in jail he wrote books and letters to try and change the law to make people equal.

Martin Luther King Jr died when he was 39 years old, the day he died was April 4,1968 a person name James Earl Ray killed him.

In 1955 Martin accepted leadership of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration.

in 1957 he was elected President of The Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

In 1964 he was the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize (35 years)
