His work is in the Coos Art Museum, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, and Horizon House in Seattle. 2 6 PM | Raven Frame Works (325 W 4th Ave) Dan Chen is an award-winning local artist and craftsman who creates art in a wide range of media including painting, pastel, bronze, and engraved acrylic, all of which will be on display. He often depicts the natural world, focusing on plants and animals. Chen gives a live demonstration of sculptural technique during the ArtWalk. 3 6:30 PM | The Lincoln Gallery (309 W 4th Ave) Join the 5th Birthday celebration of the OSLP Arts & Culture Program! View their Summer Showcase exhibition, featuring a colorful display of work in many mediums. Also on view is artwork completed during two mentorships: a ceramics mentorship between Sam Allen and Patricia Montoya Donohue, and a portrait drawing mentorship between Larry Hurst and Aunia Kahn. The Community Room Gallery features work by Art Forum members. The show includes many local artists, including first time exhibitors and well-known artists. Music: Jerry Zybach plays solo blues on guitar. The exhibit includes approximately 20 works, some from the 1970s and some that have never before been shown. Classic Clarke imagery - figurative works, landscapes, barns, abstract explorations - in a range of sizes are all included in the show. This exhibit complements the retrospective “Mark Clarke and Margaret Coe: Our Lives in Paint,” opening at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in mid-October. This exhibition is a touchstone for ending and beginnings as she moves into the next decade, letting go of the last chapter to write a new one.
